This is exactly what I needed to hide all my cabling and wifi router
This thing is great to hide my wireless router, modem and cabling.People complain because the add on leviton stuff is expensive. But really just go to the hardware store and buy your own stuff to make it work. I installed an X10 plug inside a regular AC rated junction box and just secured it with screws. Everything else I just neatly zip tied. It looks fine and neat enough to me. The x10 plug works great because I dont have to open this up if I need to restart my modem and router. I would highly recommend putting in "x10" or something from "smarthome" if your going to put your wifi router inside and screw it closed. The only problem I had was that the slackers who built my house didn't know that 16 on center is a standard for a reason. So after I neatly cut the drywall out I saw hey this thing is designed to fit perfectly snuggly betweeen 16 on center studs. I had to do some banging on the stud with a hammer to knock it over 1/4 of an inch so I could get this in between the studs. In the process I had to patch some drywall and paint because the screws popped through on the other side of the wall from me banging on the stud. My wife was freaking out and I was swearing quite alot at the morons who built my house, but really not that big of deal to fix.The product itself is great and the shipping was way faster than I expected. I shipped slow boat and it arrived in 2 days.

Worth the money to keep cabling clean!
Super solid and sturdy, worth the money. Easy to install due to existing holes. Fit perfect between my studs

Durable Media Case
Great product overall. I agree with other posters that the knockouts were a bit tough but I was able to manage with pliers and a screwdriver. The grommets were a nice addition to minimize dust in the case. I installed this product in my garage and it fit perfectly between two studs. I screwed directly into the studs using the wings on the case that can be extended. To help anyone else considering this case vs the larger option:I have the TRENDnet 16-port Unmanaged Gigabit router inside this box (12 ports used) and an 8 way cable splitter inside and it's extremely tight with all of the wiring. I have the 1 gang panel punched out to run the AC cable out the bottom of the case so it wouldn't consume more room. I was able to make it work but in hindsight I wish I would have gone to the larger version for future flexibility.

Great Product but Installation Method can be Improved.
The house had a 28" Leviton media center box that held CATV, phone, and internet junction boxes. When I added an antenna amplifier and 4-port power amp I couldn't squeeze everything back into the box. Maybe if I had a bigger hammer. I found this extension kit and ordered it immediately. The extension is well made and easy to assemble into a rectangle. Fortunately, I saw the review from Julie Massicotte. Instead of using the four long screws to mount the cover and extender to the existing cabinet, I used one of the four long self-tapping screws to thread the base holes and some #8-32 x 1" screws to mount the extender to the base, so that the extender stays in place even if I remove the cover. Then, I put a #10-24 stainless J-clip speed nut (sold by Amazon) on the four corners of the extender, with the nut part facing out. I fastened the cover with four 10-32 1" screws, though 3/4" would have been long enough. The screws in the photo are threaded into the speed nuts.

Just what I needed
I used this on a 2x4 framed wall and made a tech cabinet. The door was built very well.

Wireless AP project with Leviton enclosure
Super happy with this media center enclosure. At first I was a bit worried about the size, that it was too long (tall). After installing the enclosure and populating it with my devices I realized how happy I was to get it in that size. Now I have no more loose wires visible in the house. The wife is happy! I installed this enclosure in the laundry room; out of sight of our visitors. Soon I will get the UPS housed in the enclosure and no-longer have those power cables below the enclosure. Very happy and it definitely a worthy project to complete. This company was fast to ship my order.

Wow
As large, expensive, metal boxes go this one is superb! I don't think I've ever been so excited as when this arrived and I got to unpack it from the box in which it was nestled, the semi-gloss white finish faintly winking at me from amidst the packing peanuts. Not only are you getting an open tray with no lid for your money, but it also has lots of little holes all over which certainly add to the aesthetic appeal. This would look brilliant mounted on a wall in your basement, or perhaps in your garage. The possibilities are endless! All this for the price of 10 grande soy lattes at that well known coffee chain, or 4 really good paperback books. Bargain ahoy! I'd like to thank my husband for introducing me to this fabulous piece of equipment. Once I've worked out exactly what the large, expensive metal box is for you can bet I'll drop money on more of them. If you've got media to enclose, look no further!

The standard for structured media
You can't go wrong for a basic box to tie together services. There are two size knock outs on this panel. The small knockouts are capable of accepting a 1" and 1.5" conduit. The large knock out accepts a 1.5" and 2" conduit. There are two small knock outs on each side. Four knockouts on the top (2 small and 2 large). On the bottom- one small knockout, a combo plate with a small knockout, and a power knockout that accepts a standard metal old work box with dog ears. The sides have tabs that can be deployed for flush mount to half inch sheetrock. Included is a pack of foam to cover the knockouts and reduce friction while sliding cables as well as minimize vapor transfer through the panel to the wall. This is pretty much the standard box for structured media in a small house or apartment. Personally the larger size is better for future proofing but this should be able to handle a gateway and a dozen ethernet runs with little issue.
