Globus Red Planet: Globus Planet Mars Map – Globe, 1 Sept. 2016

One of my favourite things I’ve ever bought. I adore outer space, but I’m also very fussy about quality. There are a couple of spelling errors and the seam may bother some, but I don’t even notice either. It looks beautiful on or off. Even the stand. I hope I will be able to replace it if that day comes.Unfortunately the bulb died after a couple of years as I used it so much, and I the one I ordered was much dimmer so it now doesn’t look quite as good, but the provided picture is of the original included bulb. It’s beautifully ambient.It’s expensive but if you love space, I’d say it’s worth the price.

The Mars globe is quite easy to assemble. Nearly all features are on the globe and to scale. You get a real feel for where various features are situated. All the well known volcanoes are plotted, such as Olympus Mons, Arsia Mons, Pavonis Mons etc. All of the landing sites as well, Curiosity, Spirit and Opportunity, Pathfinder, Phoenix, Viking 1 and 2 and even the location of Beagle 2. It is nice that it lights up. An excellent Mars globe this. I highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in the planets.

Brought as a present for my brother he was over the moon with it or should I say Mars

i love it but my only issue is the price which is too high for the quality - i will also change the bulb its too bright for the globe and makes it hard to see the terrain

I am pleased I got the globe, but I was definitely expecting a higher quality for the price. Also, when it's lit, the join is sadly very visible (as per the attached photo). It looks better without the light. Also, for anyone in the UK ordering, it comes with a European plug, so you will need to buy an adapter if you want to plug it in. I might try a different lightbulb like someone else suggested, see if lower watts makes for a nicer overall look. I do love the added little notes about where certain craft landed/crashed, and where the rovers touched down. Would be good to add to it maybe with labels, the Perseverance and other future landings.

This has all the key features on Mars including locations of various probes that have landed on the surface. It is good quality and also has an internal light. Though the power plug seems to be the type that is normally used on a electric shaver in the UK. Noticed a typo on the Beagle 2 information.
