Does this product measure DC amps?

This model won't measure DC amps. We don't have an open-jaw tester that will measure DC amps, but some of our clampmeters, such as the Fluke 325, will do that.

Does the t6 1000 pro have a small round silver piece of metal on the back?

The T6 1000 Pro does not have the silver grounding disc on the back. That was only on the T6 1000 / 600 (non-pro models previous to the Pro). Fluke has done away with the silver disc on the back for the improved Pro version.

Does the triangular indicator light below the display glow red or orange?

RED - When a function is selected on my unit.

What is the difference between the t6-1000 pro and the older t6-1000 (non pro)? i can't seem to see a difference on fluke web site either.

The pro's screen turns green when you have continuity (visual continuity) which is helpful in loud environments, the non-pro you can use your finger for field sense. You're essentially choosing between giving up one feature for another. In my opinion

I never trust anything but a Fluke. Great form factor, nice little carry sheath.

Great tester for Electrical work, I typically use a 789 for instrumentation work, but this is way less bulky and cheaper and great for straight electrical work.

ideal everyday carry

I've trusted Fluke test gear all my working life and always will. Yes, they're expensive, but then how much do you value your life? They have instruments that are robust, very well made, and have all the features needed to carry out your work with full confidence. I just bought the T6 1000 PRO. It has everything the concerned spark needs. This will be my everyday carry. I have individual test gear for deeper measurements, such as very high/low current and insulation testing, but I don't use or need those every day. The T6 1000 PRO is the ideal instrument for regular daily carry, obviously, along with the proving unit
