Easily removed by child and not adversive texture
My son (3) can definitely pull these off on his own. They are very difficult to put on though. They help him remember not to suck his thumb and they are good for daytime because it doesn't impair use. However, when he is drowsy he will still suck his thumb with the glove on. The material is thin and silky and doesn't "feel" uncomfortable for him to suck. He will still accidentally do this as he is falling asleep. We just use a cotton winter glove at night because that does NOT feel good to suck on and he is compliant in not removing the glove. Also, I feel like the value for these tiny little thin, flimsy gloves is awful. And the first day we used them during the day and he got the material all stratched up by playing on the playground. If he wore it during the day and during play they would be destroyed in no time.SO if your kid needs a reminder to stop sucking their thumbs, this would work probably, but so would some cheap-o winter gloves that you have laying around.

Never thought I could do it so easily
My son was born with a club foot and when he started sucking his thumb I did not want to force him to stop because he already had casting and bracing shoes to deal with and I felt like Thumb Sucking soothed him, so I let him go at it.As he grew, the habit grew with him and eventually he would not get his finger out of his mouth. Finally his finger got blistered often and had dead skin all the time. It really looked bad and I am sure to other people it looked disgusting.I was glad to find this product on Amazon by chance and ordered two pair as recommended by one of the reviewers. It was great advice. The first time I put it on him; he was excited about it, but then got frustrated when he could not suck on his thumb. He fussed and asked me to take it off around 3 times the first day but I explained that it is to stop him from sucking his thumb, I am not sure if he understood me but eventually he understood that he is wearing it for that purpose. To my surprise, the stuffed animal was a lot of help in helping him go to sleep. He hugged it to sleep when he felt like sucking his thumb and found it covered. It was kind of sad seeing him jerk his hand during his sleep remembering the habit. On day 8 he came back from pre-school without them on because they were so dirty and the miss took them off. He didn’t go back to thumb sucking but started asking for milk bottles whenever he felt like sucking it. Now I catch him sucking his thumb every now and then but he quickly removes it when he sees me. He just doesn’t want them back on.I am ordering another pair and maybe keeping them on for another week to make sure it is gone for good. The first pairs got worn out.

Good choice for a compliant child
These gloves worked great for my 4-year old. He knew we wanted him to stop sucking his thumb, we'd been talking about it for months. The reviews on that bitter nail paint made me nervous so decided to try these gloves. My son is small for his age, I ordered the 2-4 year old size and they fit perfectly. The gloves were sown well and I had no issues during the 3 weeks he wore them. The material is stretchy and it would be VERY easy for a child to simply pull their thumb out of the thumb cover if they wanted to. However, my son didn't so they worked great! He wore them about 3 weeks, then got a bad cold and I didn't want them getting all snotty plus he was all stuffed up so that made a good transition time to stop them and he has successfully stopped sucking his thumb. I did wash them in cold water and air dried prior to first use. For the amount of fabric and sewing involved, I thought they were overpriced, but there's not much else out there on the market. I did consider a more expensive plastic thumb cover (T Guard Aero Thumb) but glad I didn't spring for that as you only get one and my son switched thumbs when I only put on one glove the first few days, so he needed both gloves to effectively break the habit.

Good glove bad customer service
We ordered this product and got it within a few days. In less than 24 hours the snap of one of the gloves ripped off, I messaged customer service that day and they responded 2 days later saying they would send out a new one. It has been 12 days since then and I have yet to receive the second glove. My son is 18 months old, average size and the small fit him which is good. He could get it off with the first snap and the second snap left marks on his wrist it was so tight, so how this is made for a 2year+ I'm not sure, would recommend getting larger glove then the age they are saying. Overall, not a bad product, it worked for what is was intended, but wish customer service was better. Paid 30$ for one glove....Update: We did receive a full refund with no hassle

Good thought but the child needs to want to stop sucking their thumb.
My grandson liked the idea but took off the gloves and lost them in the sand box after a couple days. He didn't like but being able to feel with his thumbs. He quit 5months later on his own.

Seems to work, but......
Great concept. Our 3 year old understands why she needs to stop sucking her thumb and is ready to quit. The glove gets in between her and us, so we no longer have to be the bad guy. The quality control is poor. Our glove started falling apart after two days with a bad seam. Our little girl likes wearing the glove and hasn't been rough housing it at all, so this is disappointing. I want to return it, but it's working and I don't want to get rid of it while we're on a good streak. Total catch-22. I've sewn it up for now since I don't want to send it back and lose our progress.

Works well, but quality isn't great
These gloves have worked very well for our 3 year old when he is wearing them; however, we still have not had carry over with his ability to stop sucking his thumb when we remove the gloves. He is able to remove the gloves by himself, but he's old enough that he knows he is to keep them on when we put them on. I did not give this 5 stars because I have been less than impressed with the quality of the gloves. The snaps seem durable, but the seams of the glove on the thumb are not durable and I've had to have both gloves repaired on multiple occasions due to the seam separating.
