When another tool just won't cut it...
I was building a desk where I needed a few holes cut out of the top piece. I use primarily hand tools, so I knew a coping saw was the saw for the job, but the one I had just wasn't cutting it... literally! I was ready to give in and buy myself a router but then I thought "Surely there is a coping saw with a bigger belly?" and I stumbled across this one. It was the perfect tool for the job and I ended up finishing the desk that night after being so inspired by how well this one performed. It has a bit of a learning curve and it's a bit of a shame you can't rotate the blade but I think it's an amazing tool and a fine addition to my collection.

Good quality
I like my fretsaw. It reminds me one I had in my childhood. Easy to maintain and use even for kids. I had a complication with blades since I ordered pinned end blades and they don not fit in the slots of my fretsaw. I am sure I had to buy plain end blade next time. However, I used the hammer and pushed out the metal tiny pins on both ends of the blades and made them plain. They fit now perfectly. I like the deep mouth which helps to cut the bigger sized projects.

Great frame!
This frame made my life so much easier. I’m an artist and I’ve been cutting some big pieces and my other frame wasn’t deep enough. The frame is awesome but the saw that came with it is not really good. It’s too thick and it doesn’t produce a clean cut. At least for me it is useless. But I have a bunch of saw replacements for jewelry and I have been using them successful.

Extremely fine tooth blades
These blades work great for marquetry wood working. I was struggling to find a fine tooth blade that would work for me. These are great and do not tear the wood up when cutting using a fret saw.

Worthless junk
I would have given this zero stars if possible. First, the clamp pad that holds the blade in isn't sufficiently rough to grab the blade and it is painted which makes things much worse. Second the steel used in the screw and the frame is cheap soft steel. The result? The screw stripped out the second time I use it. Fortunately, having been a jeweler, I had some good German saw frames and a screw from one of these fit so I was able to repair it. Do not buy this! Do not even let someone give one to you! It is complete and total junk. The plastic wrapping it comes in is worth far more than this saw.

12” saw is not adjustable and is somewhat heavy
I bought the 11-12” saw. It’s a lie that “the blades can be positioned at any angle to the frame”. Two positions are possible, 0 degrees and 180 degrees. False/mistaken/lazy advertising. Also the frame is solid, which is quite heavy since the saw frame is long. I used to have a hollow frame saw, much easier to use, should have kept it.

Do NOT buy the "Frequently Purchased Together" blades shown
This is a rather strange review - it's not of the saw itself, but of the RECOMMENDATIONS by Amazon for replacement blades. At the time I'm writing this, they still show the following as "Frequently Bought Together":Zona 36-678 Coping Saw Blades, 6-1/2-Inch Long Between Pins, 125-Inch x 020-Inch x 15 TPI, 4-Pack $6.32(https://www.amazon.com/Zona-36-678-Between-125-Inch-020-Inch/dp/B005B6OIDI/ref=pd_bxgy_328_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B005B6OIDI&pd_rd_r=NWY66Y07DY1ZVVPJWBA7&pd_rd_w=9FdgL&pd_rd_wg=BylbY&psc=1&refRID=NWY66Y07DY1ZVVPJWBA7)Zona 36-679 Coping Saw Blades, 6-1/2-Inch Long Between Pins, 250-Inch x 014-Inch x 32 TPI, 4-Pack $8.36(https://www.amazon.com/Zona-36-679-Between-250-Inch-014-Inch/dp/B001BHEF3O/ref=pd_bxgy_328_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001BHEF3O&pd_rd_r=NWY66Y07DY1ZVVPJWBA7&pd_rd_w=9FdgL&pd_rd_wg=BylbY&psc=1&refRID=NWY66Y07DY1ZVVPJWBA7)Well, if customers are "frequently buying" these blades to go with this saw, then they are buying blades that DON'T FIT THE SAW!!!!The saw takes blades that are shorter than the 6-1/2" length of these blades! How do I know? I took Amazon's advice and bought the blades, and they simply do not fit!At first I thought maybe I wasn't seeing something - another reviewer made the statement "this saw takes 6-1/2" blades," but for the life of me I don't see how. The gullet of the saw is about an inch shorter than that!I'm still trying to figure out how to purchase the blades that will fit this saw. FWIW, the blade that came with the saw was such poor quality, I could never get it to make a decent cut, and it broke after about five minutes' use.P.S. Just as I finished this, I did one more check and found these:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002NH274U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1These are 5" blades specifically made as replacements for the 70-FS1R deep-throat fretsaw that I purchased. I have ordered them. Will write more IF there are any problems with the replacements.
