Can this be used for backer board seams when prepping a wall for tile in a shower?

I wouldn't recommend it as the backer board is porous and the Sika is totally waterproof...

Does this work the same as GoBoard sealant for waterproofing tile backer board? Looks like the same ingredients, but a lot less cost.

I am not sure about that but I’ve used this for gutter joints and to seal up the concrete around the base of pole barn.

Can it be used in wet conditions? How much curing time does it take before it’s rainproof?

It is made for wet conditions, but only AFTER it is applied and cured. As far as curing time, 24 hours and it's ready for paint, another few days and it's fully cured. And yes, this stuff is waterproof. It's made for pool deck caulking. I've been using Sika 1a for years. I installed 14 windows in a home remodel with no screws. These were in a brick opening so there was nothing to screw it to. I will be securing after the interior trim is done. Hope this helps.
