Jack's Giant Elephant Ear Plant- Colocasia- Massive Foliage- Potted

I bought and received the initial order and "Giant" did not describe the tiny potting I received. For some reason I received a second tuber. Much better that the first shipment however it is very slow growing even though it is automatically watered twice daily by a trickle system. Lowes finally got some plants in selling for $9.95. That plant is growing like a weed. I miss the day I could buy just the tubers the size of large baking potatoes.Latest update (Sept, 2014), the second tuber also a "Jack's Giant" has turned into a beautiful plant far surpassing the tuber I got from Lowes (a Taro plant). If you can get the vendor to provide you with a 5-6 inch tuber you will be more than pleased. The original "Giant " still only has a few leaves and is about 12 inches high. The second one is 2 feet high and 2 feet wide and putting out new leaves every day. By the end of the growing season it should be quite large

Nothing like what you see on the picture advertised here, the plant is very very and one more time very small. Mine had only 3 leaves. Died after about a weeks time..ICK.....

I've owned Elephant ears for years...Thought it would be a great to have something like this in a 6 foot version...Yeah, 3 months later, it's a stunning 8 inches tall...Save your money...I put it in a massive pot, with miracle grow potting soil...very disappointing...asking for my money back

Well, still working with it. When it came, it had three leaves and one turned brown and fell off pretty quickly. Another came, and another fell off. I now have three again and one is looking a little sad so I'm not sure if it is going to stay on or not. I have watered it continuously since all reviews said they like a lot of water. Also gave it some plant food and put some mulch in to retain the water. It has been fun watching it grow but wish I could get more leaves to come and stay on. It's a work in progress!

My Elephant Ear arrived quickly with no hassles, and I was impressed with the quality of open communication i received from the seller. Very accommodating! It came carefully packaged with only one yellow leaf. This was my first time purchasing a growing plant through the mail. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I am very pleased with the outcome! They even threw in an extra bulb and some bonus tropical ground cover. My elephant ear is doing great in it's new pot and I can't wait to watch it grow and grow into a beautiful giant. I would definitely recommend this!!

My plant arrived even sooner than I expected for starters. It was packaged very carefully. It came in a long tube pyramid type box, soil was still moist and tge plant utself was wrapped not tightly but securely in tissue like you would use in a gift bag. When I unwrapped it one leaf was bent but did still go on to survive a month later. The other two leaves were very healthy. I have had this plant for just over a month and its doing great! I have a total if five nice size leaves. They included some of their organic plant food and I like it as well. I will do bussiness with this seller again.

the plant did well indoors, however when planted outdoors it shriveled up and died (i am an experienced gardener,all my other plants are doing fine.big dissapointment(my wife is from thailand...and now we have an open area which we are trying to fill)

Ok, I had these for over two weeks living in my house and I already see them getting bigger, success!!! One leaf died but that was before I learned that these guys need water daily to every other day, so now its looking green and happy (large leaf plants tend to need more water anyway). I forget how much California are sticklers to their environment, so they had to bare root them in Florida (sorry guys). This pushed back the delivery date a little, but I'm glad it survived the trip across the country, during winter might I add. This is an awesome, easy to care for plant, and I highly recommend for purchase.
