This is the 2 1/8", model CI-55. For the CI-35, look for brush size 1 3/8".

Q: I'm looking for a brush without a ring where the barrel meets the handle (traps hair by the strand). Does this brush have one?

No, there is no type of ring, the handle is one smooth shaft all the way to where the bristles start. I have long thick hair which I blow dry after every wash. It is impossible for any hair to get caught. Highly recommend it.

Q: What is the number on the end cap?

This is the CI-80, largest brush in that collection, so the number is 80.

Q: how do you clean this type of brush

Get two brushes and rub them together. Keep rubbing them in different places and all the hair comes off and they look great.
