Tony Merida opens up the Old Testament in a conversational approach that is very readable but also has depth. Good commentary.

Very interesting take on Old Testament leaders

Like the author's "Exalting Jesus in Exodus", this book is exegetically sound and filled with shareable illustrations and applications. It is also spiced with humor and contemporary terminology that enhance the presentation, rather than being distracting. For example, the author references an episode of "The Simpsons", in which Homer said of the Bible, "All these people are a mess ... except this one guy." "Exalting Jesus in 1 & 2 Kings" effectively illuminates this part of the Bible and exalts "that one guy".

This was a required textbook for school. It is well written and enjoyable to read.

Great resource for additional insight on connecting Christ with the O.T. It also highlights GOD's redemptive plan through Christ revealed from Genesis through Revelations, great resource to have to aid in personal study or for lessons, sermons and devotions.

This book was required for a course I am taking. The author makes suspect connections between the Old Testament and New. He tries very hard to link things that have no connection. The writing is good. The sourcing is good. As a scholarly piece, you have to be buying what he is selling before you read it to agree with the conclusions.

My small group is using this book for our small group and we all agree that it is well written and easy to understand. It's also very informative.
