Fast but felt a bit short-changed in the end
This SIM, at 4GB, will either cover a business user that does a fair bit of videoconferencing for a couple of days; or will be very useful for your typical week long holiday trip as long as you don't binge on videos.I used this product in four different countries in Western Europe over a two-week period, and it worked reliably; the network is fast, and I was able to turn my back-up phone into a wireless router by tethering into it without any issue.Where the product loses points: the instructions were for a different product (relying on a UK provider instead of the Dutch one this used), and as a result, the SIM card didn't work out of the box, and the AP listed were incorrect. Quite inconvenient when you land at 11pm, and need it to work *right away*... On the positive side, customer service responded quite promptly (they appeared to be on European time, rather than Dallas time) so I could get it to work early in the morning. More irritating was the fact that their accounting seems to be quite aggressive. I was using a Nexus 5 as a tethered phone, and these devices are generally very reliable when it comes to counting data. According to the phone, I had 73 MB left when the card died. All services on the phone proper were shut off, so that it was just acting as a router, so I'm not sure what happened. I realize there can be discrepancies, but that's a pretty big one (~2% of the whole card) and it actually forced me to buy an extra pass on the last day. (This was from a different provider, this card does not support topping up. When you're done, you just throw it away.) Not a big deal, but mildly annoying.Overall, this is a pretty good product. It's probably cheaper to get a local SIM if you're only going to be in a single country and speak the language, but as an all-European pass, it was good. I might get this again, but with a much larger data contract next time, as 4GB is just too small for professional use.

Perfect for map navigation
I had full use of the internet with 3G networks in France, Croatia and Greece. In Italy, I was NOT able to get a 3G connection (Rome, Sicily, Naples) or at the Munich Germany airport. Without a 3G connection I was only able to use Apple Maps (luckily it’s what I needed for navigating the cities)—-I was not able to get on any websites or apps like Google, Instagram or WhatsApp and email services had a long delay in sending and receiving.Note: as mentioned in description and other reviews, you will not be able to use anything related to a phone number, even if you’re on a wifi network. However, FaceTime was good to go with the 3G networks—not iMessage. In summary, i found it easy to install on my iPhone. I was happy I had the ability to use maps in Italy. The other countries had 3G connections which gave me full internet. No texting or iMessage anywhere, even using WiFi. Use FaceTime, what’s app or messenger for that type of communication.I was on a 2 week trip and had Wifi for some of it. I only used 1.8 GB data during that time. I think it’s a very economical solution for the average tourist. Would buy again!

It worked even though I was unable to change the APN
I have an unlocked iPhone 6 and this SIM card worked pretty well even though I was unable to change the APN setting. Neither the instructions with the card nor the instructions on Apple support were valid for my phone. It did not seem to matter because I was able to use cell data fairly easily through out my trip.I used maps and other apps constantly and never ran out of data.Throughout the more populated coastal areas of southern France and northern Italy, the service was fine. Service was also pretty good if we stuck to autostrada in Italy, but could be slow when we were in less populated parts out in the country. Generally though, I can't complain about the service we got.Things got a bit more difficult while traveling in the mountainous areas of the Alpes Maritimes in France and the Appeninnes in Italy. If I kept Wi-fi turned on, I was always able to get maps, even when cell service dropped out. I was however glad that we had GPS in the car because it served as a back-up.I'd recommend finding out where your APN setting is and checking with your provider about setting it before you travel. I did not know to do this prior to putting the card in and so was scrambling a bit when I couldn't find a way to change that setting. It worked anyway, even though I was not sure why!If you are mostly in cities and towns, or other areas were cell coverage is good, this card is a great deal.

Worked until it didn’t...
Easy to install with the tool that was provided. You can store your phone’s original SIM card in the packaging, which is useful. I called my cell carrier to be sure that my phone was “unlocked” & would accept another carrier. Turns out it was, & I was given helpful instructions on preparing the phone for the alternative SIM card (not 100% sure that the instructions given with the Cellhire Prepaid Europe SIM were adequate for my iPhone). That being said, it was easy enough to install & to use Data in Barcelona! I stored the original SIM card in the pouch with my passport for safekeeping. The SIM card also worked great in Madrid & Toledo. However, after using it for one week, just before I arrived in Seville in the south of Spain, it stopped working & never worked again. I didn’t think to try technical support & only used WiFi for the few days I was there. Because location services still worked, I had some mapping function which was one of my main concerns. Overall, I would recommend this SIM card for Barcelona & Madrid, but call your cell carrier for advice before you purchase.

Works as advertised. Shame it expires with time rather than just as data is used up.
Worked first try once in the SIM card tray. Consistent coverage throughout Belgium and the Netherlands.Only issue is that once you start using it, you have a ticking clock, even if you have lots of data left. A shame that there is a time-limit, especially if you are a careful user of data.

Tech support was amazing. Nearly hassle free.
Hassle free, this Cellhire card, upon arrival: you land, put the sim-card in, start and it starts working. However, when I changed countries, it stopped working or was extremely slow. I wrote to tech support and they came with a solution in minutes. It worked absolutely fine after that. The little trick is on the info they provide. If ever they included the little trick they instructed me to do, in the information sheet or on their website.Excellent product and way cheaper than products you usuallly find in Europe. (In fact, on a previous trip, I purchased a low cost sim-card in Spain for 10 euros and it worked very well. Voice and data. But I cannot remember if it would work outside of Spain…).But remember: data only! You need to have Skype, Messenger, Whatsapp, whatever on the phone to be able to make calls.

Fonctionne bien mais lire les instructions / Work well but read instructions
4 Go était parfait pour mes besoins. / 4 Go was plenty for my needs. Work well traveling trough Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and France. Read carefully instructions since iPhone requires settings modification. Don’t aloud to call unless via app. Should have bought a second one for hubby. I recommend

Great for EU travel
Debated long and hard about which sim card to purchase prior to our recent trip to Europe. This was the right decision. The cards arrived as scheduled. Cards had clear instructions that were easy to follow. The sim card removal tool included was a nice touch.Upon arrival in France, the cards connected to the towers right away. After changing the APN, we were online within minutes. I used mine heavily for 8 days for navigation and communication as well as social media and never had a problem connecting to the network. While traveling on the train in the countryside, the connection speeds were slower, but I think that had to do with our location rather than the sim itself. We used this sim in Paris, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam and on the trains in between and never lost connection.Data only was the way to go - we never would have used up the talk minutes or texts available on comparable sim cards.Highly recommend for your next trip to EU countries!

Good product...must have for longer trips
Overall the SIM worked as advertised in all the countries we visited. 4Gb lasted easily for a month, given we used it mostly for Maps and search etc outside. Only issue was that the network speed was 4G in Netherlands and Hungary, everywhere else (Italy, France etc.) I got 3G speeds - which was fine for routing, but can be an issue sometimes. Not sure if this was an issue with my phone or issue with the SIM. Definitely must have - life was so simple when you know you have data the moment you enter any new country!
