Excellent size and fast transfer speeds.
It's the perfect size for my MacBook Pro or any computer that has USB ports that are right next to each other. Some drives have bulky housing that prevent you from using the neighboring port. You can also slide the "skin" off to make it even slimmer. I lost the cap months ago but the product still works fine. I also own the SanDisk Cruzer Micro (the one with a black body and white slide tab that pushes the connector in and out). The transfer speed is noticeably faster on this "skin" version. I also like that it's metal and not plastic. It's small though. Keep the lanyard on. I actually like that it's short. I once had an older generation SanDisk drive (the one that was grey plastic, non-retractable, and came with different colored caps). It was plugged into a computer on the floor at work when someone walked by and bent it. So with this metal shorter version, it's stronger and won't stick out as much. You'll probably lose the cap but you don't really need it. Now that I've lost mine, I don't have to worry about looking for it all the time. A little more expensive, but worth it!

Very hardy little thumb drive...
This jump drive is great for it's physical size and construction. It's small enough where you can easily fit it into a cramped USB area (whether it be poorly-designed front ports, or overcrowded rear ports), and it's metal construction is very resilient (even without the "skins"). One complaint worth noting is that the main skin (not the cap, which is the same material as the rest of the skin) will slide up as you try to plug this drive into a tight USB port - forcing you to grip it harder, or reposition your thumb to the back/bottom of the drive. This was easily remedied (for me) by discarding the skin and cap altogether, and just leaving the drive on my keychain "naked". The metallic construction of the drive kept it very well protected (I'm pretty rough with my keys), and I never had any issues with getting dirt in the connections. I also never had any issues with the plastic keyring loop -- it held together just fine for me. I would certainly recommend this product.

Everyone can ignore Sandisk policy on piracy with great ease. I even pointed out to the rep ...
Fake Sandisk 4GB USB drives I bought about 6 years ago were slower then 128 KB USB drives that are 15 years older!!! Now I complained to Sandisk, their reps gave me such a run around that I gave up on them. Everyone can ignore Sandisk policy on piracy with great ease. I even pointed out to the rep back then that the model# and serial# on all 7 USB drives was identical and they replied (paraphrasing) of course they are the same. But after filing a complaint about this faked product to Amazon they were amazing and took me seriously, asked if I'd sign an affidavit which I agreed to but then my credit card got stolen by non-other then the fakers so my VISA company and Amazon clobbered the fakers and I have to say I was impressed with the speed they got things done. Plus Amazon refunded me the cost of the fake USB drives, imo Amazon went 110% for full customer service and got the job done and shut down some pirates. Thanks Amazon! :)

Good, but not that good
I got this at walmart as a christmas special for 9 dollars. If was good for the price, but i would not pay more than that for it. First of all, i lost the cap for it within a month, because it does not attach to the back when it is in the computer. secondly, i have seen generic flashdrives at walgreens that look identical to this, I have a good feeling that this is a generic flashdrive with the sandisk name on it. But in the end memory is memory, and it does it purpouse. If you are looking to carry this around with you, select a different one. Mine says in my computer all of the time so i don't mind. ALso it lights up orange, which is kind of cool.

Small and sturdy, but not too small
This is probably my favorite flash memory stick. Unfortunately, it is an older model which is getting increasingly harder to find. Why do I like it so much? The entire casing of the drive is formed out of the same sturdy sheet of metal as the actual connector plug. There is no play, no wiggle between the casing and the metal plug itself. This is important. Almost every plastic-cased thumb drive I have owned eventually breaks due to movement at the joint between the plastic and the metal. I don't know how you use yours, but I usually use my laptop in my, you know,...lap, and the USB sockets on my laptops have invariable been facing outward from the sides or even toward the front of the computer. This is a very vulnerable place, because I have these things called thighs, and my laptop doesn't aways stay firmly glued to both of them at the same time. If the laptop shifts, my leg may push up on the thumb drive from below, and it will bend a little right at the point where the plastic meets the metal. Eventually it breaks, hopefully after I have backed up my data. This product does not give, because it is one solid piece of metal all the way from end to end. While this probably places more strain on the USB socket built into the laptop, and one could argue that fixing that may cost more than buying a new thumb drive, I have never broken a USB socket on my computer, but I have broken multiple thumb drives, but not this one. It lasts forever as far as I can tell.

Reliable and durable, but REMOVE the skin
I've had a 1Gb version of these for several years. It has put up with so much use and abuse I can't understand how it's sill working. It's been through the wash, dropped in the snow, dropped on concrete, crushed, and more, and it's still alive! After about the first month, I decided to forget about the skins... pulled the skin off the body, never put the cap back on again, and just kept it on my keychain like that. The skins and cap are a waste since they just slide off anyhow eventually, and it doesn't seem to need them anyhow for protection. I ended up getting the 4Gb version of this after having problems with some other competing drives staying in USB ports, and seeing that other products that actually have a full SUB connector and can fit snugly in USB ports are much bigger than this. The thing I liked about the 1Gb version vs. the 4Gb is it had a solid LED light and doesn't blink. Blinking might look cool at first, but gets extremely distracting if you're trying to watch a movie on your laptop, or use it in a car stereo that takes USB flash drives in the front for playing MP3s like mine. After getting the 4Gb version, I ended up peeling up the label, bending the keyring locking tabs open, and breaking the LED off of the board! Now I'm happy! Also, I've never had a problem with it coming off my key ring as another reviewer posted. Just make sure the metal tabs that hold the keyring loop on are tight.

AWESOME...but 3.72 GB?
I've had the Sandisk Cruzer Micro 128 MB for years, works great. I bought this 4GB to just use for my XBOX 360 for music. IT'S AWESOME. I really like the green LED on the stick too, the 128MB was a blue LED. The 128MB does have a better piece for attaching straps or keychains, the 4GB is just a little piece of plastic that will break. It does it's job well. Popped it in my laptop, it got the drivers from the internet within seconds, I didn't have to tell it anything. I did format the stick before use. The only thing I don't like is that I go to Properties of the USB stick and it says 3.72GB available before I've even put anything on... i can understand 3.98 or 3.95, but why is only 3.72GB available for me to use? Oh well, still awesome for me.
