Definately Worth the Money!
I like the fact that the adjustable turrets are lockable and can be set to my zero distance. If I need to zero at a different distance, I can (using ballistic software) re-adjust the scope for that zero, but quickly return to my original zero. The turret clicks are positive and can be turned by the fingers. No tools needed, yeah! The illuminated reticle is a nice touch. I appreciate it when sighting in on a dark target where the cross-hairs disappear. A push of a button or two on the EZ-Tap housing buttons gets me to the desired brightness and color. There are five levels of brightness for each red and green color. Press the R button for red and the left button for green to turn the color on. Then, press again, as necessary to adjust the color level or turn the color off. By default, the color is at the highest level when first selected. The Colors and brightness are controlled electronically. With thirty-six colors to play with, even Martha Stewart would be pleased. Once you get the desired color selected, a memory features allows you to save the setting so that you can return to it at next use. For Multi-color mode, simply press both the G and R buttons simultaneously for one (1) second. To vary the colors press either the R or G button until the desired color is achieved. The UTG 2-7X44 30mm Long Eye Relief Scout Scope, AO, 36-color uses a single CR2032 3V battery that is mounted in a top housing and you get one as a spare. I can’t estimate battery life and none is provided in the specifications. The 30mm tube allows more light to enter the scope, which makes it much brighter than with the one-inch scope that I had been using. The glass is crystal clear and the built-in sun-shade keeps the lens shaded when facing into the sun’s direction. The 11” to 9.5” eye relief is near perfect for my eyes with the scope mounted on the Ruger, even with a recoil pad mounted. There is plenty of rail on the Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle for positioning the scope exactly where you need it. The major difference between the AIM 2-7x32 scope that was mounted and the UTG scope is that the eyepiece is above the ejection port of the rifle with the scope mounted on the rail, but does not interfere with ejection or bolt operation in any form or fashion.. The UTG 2-7x44mm scope is a much larger and longer scope than the AIM 2-7x32.The unit comes with a set of Picatinny/Weaver 30mm quad-mount scope mounts that, for the most part, are robust and more than adequate. Personally, I prefer Warne QD rings over others. If I needed to remove the scope, for whatever reason, the QD levers on the scope rings allow me to do so. The provided scope rings; however, do allow for quick attachment and detachment via a twist-lock on each scope mount that allows me to tighten and loosen as needed. The center-line of the optic resides 2.0 inches above the bore of the rifle and I could not ask for better clearance between scope and rifle. At the range, I could definitely tell the difference between the UTG 2-7X44 30mm Long Eye Relief Scout Scope, AO, 36-color and the AIM 2-7x32mm scope that I had been using. For my eyes, the UTG was the more preferable of the two.A down-side is the weight of the scope. At 25.4 ounces (1.5875 pounds), this is a heavy scope to be mounting forward of the action that is common on ‘Scout’ rifles. The Ruger Gunsite Scout (in .308 Winchester) weighs in at around 7.3 pounds heavy (empty). With the scope mounted, that brings the gross weight up to 8.825 pounds (141.20 ounces). Then, add a full-magazine (10-rounds) of .308, and perhaps a bipod, and the ‘Scout’ is heading upward quite a bit in weight.A second UTG 2-7X44 30mm Long Eye Relief Scout Scope was ordered for a MSR with 'sight ready' capabilities that has a full top rail. This will allow me to precisely place the scope at the correct distance for the proper eye relief at the highest magnification. Since I have a fixed stock on the MSR the eye relief adjustment, then, has to be with the scope.

Great for the money
I will start by saying this is not a small scope. In fact it is a lot bigger then I thought it would be. But it is still manageable. Not a complaint, just information. Also, on 7X power, if the lens is set too far forward, you will have a little fish eye effect, but still very easy to adjust to. With that being said, the optics are great! For the price this scope rocks! It is super clear and very easy to see. I was able to sight my 7.62x39 bolt action in with about 20 shots (second time sighting in a scope), and it has held so far. I don't really care much for the million different colors you can change the cross hairs too, but if that is something you're looking for it's works great. The scope looks great and is easy to use. I haven't done any shooting out beyond 100 yards, so I cannot comment on the how well the parallax settings work. I set it to 100 yards and it worked fine. My last two shots using Prvi Partisan soft points were on bulls eye and both shots were touching inside a quarter. Again not an expert, but probably what one would call MOA. I ran out of the PP ammo and switched to some Barnaul soft points, and found they were not as accurate. Again, not a $1K scope, but for minute of deer accuracy out to 100 yards (with my setup, I haven't shot any further yet, and the limitations of my caliber) this has been a great scope and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great priced and functional scout/long eye relief scope.

Great scout scope for the money!
Scope seems to be working well after 45 shots through my Mosin Nagant which really packs a wallop on any optics you would choose to mount! A greater number of rounds through this with this scope will be needed to see how it holds up to the punishing recoil over time. The only complaint I have is the bulk and weight of this scope, thus the 4 star rating. The rings seem to be pretty stout and should hold up. The lock down bolts for mounting to the rail have holes in them so you can use the allen wrench provided to tighten them to your rail really good. This is a nice scope for the price and eye relief and parallax is good. At higher magnification, it might take you some time to locate the target in the lens, but it is possible. I used a Brass Stacker mount for this scope which sets the scope a whopping 3" from center bore which is really high, but it appears to shoot well out to 100 yards! See attached pics. Leapers has provided great products and I am proud to support a Michigan based company and will continue to buy their products!

Need a long eye relief scope? Great quality at a low price? Look no further...
Installed this Leapers L.E.R. scope on my brand new Savage .308 Scout rifle. Quickly dialed in at 25 yards and took it to 50 yards then 100 yards. Each time only took 3 rounds each. This is my second Leapers scope and I have never had one problem with them. This is a fairly heavy scope, so if your looking for a long eye relief scope to hunt with, this may not be a good choice for you. As I just bench shoot at the ranges, weight really isn't an issue. I removed the factory flip up scope caps as they are somewhat annoying to me, and I use a scope bikini on all of my scopes anyway so again, a non-issue. The supplied scope rings are pretty darn good and were easy to install. The lighted reticle is actually very useful on overcast days and I was impressed by the brightness and stellar sight picture, as other reviewers have stated. If anything changes with this scope I will update my review. I highly recommend this scope, you just cant go wrong given the low price and the quality.

Utg 2-7x44 scout scope
This scout scope is amazing, I mounted with my own leupold quick release post rings. This scope sit on top my encore .243 15" pistol barrel. I'll definitely be deer hunting with this outfit I have a prohunter frame and a pachmayr grip it shoot very good with 80 grain bullets. Sighting it in was so easy, shoots great. If any one is looking for a large handgun hunting scope this is it.
