have not been disappointed in numerous plans if the need arises
i dislike the reciept upload process as i am not very technically inclined but , if there is need for a claim, they have never disappointed me. they have repaired or replaced items which fell under their coverage over the years. recently they are going to fix the charge port of my chromebook. for me, it has been worth it with techie products. update. once again, they have approved a repair on my beloved chromebook.

This is the type of purchase you hope you never have to use,however things do happen!
I ordered a small netbook for my Wife for Christmas.It's a great little computer.I decided to purchase a warranty on it from Squaretrade.I thought since it was recommened by Amazon and it was very reasonable it should be pretty good.My Wife is very careful but spills or drops can happen to anyone and I figured this netbook wasn't going to take either one very well.As I said,it's the sort of thing you hope you never have to use.One morning just recently my wife tried to use it and there was no display.Everything else worked because I could hear the fan and the start up music when it booted.I examnined the display screen and there was a tiny chip like place in the corner of the screen.It was just bad enough to ruin the LCD screen,so no display.I started a claim for it online with SquareTrade but their coverage does not start until the manufacturers waranty expires.They took all the information I had typed in and gave me instuctions on how to set up a claim with the Manufacturer.I did so and learned I had to ship the unit back to the company to be repaired.Then after they received it they called to tell me their warranty would not cover the repair.I had to pay to have it repaired or they would just ship it back to me like it was.I paid them over the phone and they said they would repair it and ship it back as soon as it was done.Needless to say I wasn't very happy having a three year warranty with Squaretrade that covered everything and a one year warranty with the manufacturer that covered pretty much nothing.Then I remembered seeing something in the Squaretrades warranty about contacting them if for some reason the manufacturer's warranty would not cover a claim.I called the toll free number and talked to a very helpful young man that told me not to worry about a thing.When I received the repaired unit back all I had to do was fax Squaretrade a copy of the repair bill and they would reimburse me for every cent I had to pay them.I was very impressed and relieved I didn't have to be out of that amonunt of money right now.I have another Squaretrade warranty on a different item and am glad now that I do.Thanks SquareTrade.

Insurance with very little hassle. Can't ask for more
My electronics die. I'm cursed. Square Trade has saved me a fortune. Service is polite, and I didn't feel as if anyone had something else they needed to be doing. Focus on the task at hand. Rare these days.

Worked to resolve the problem when first contacted
I would have liked more time to consider the effect of wiping out my apps. I would have more comfort in deinstalling my apps and backing up my data before the complete wiping of my computer.

Good Customer Service
I received a phone call a few days after I purchased this warranty from the company asking if I received my confirmation email. Just checking if everything was in order. I also like how you can keep a digital receipt with them on file to make claims easier. I tend to lose receipts with all the moves we make. I will definitely be buying warranties in the future from this company.

Worth the money
We purchased the SquareTrade policy when we bought a chromebook for our 12 year old son. Given the beating much of his possessions takes (not because he is willingly destructive, just because he is age-appropriate) we thought it worth the money. It is easy to file a claim (we have had two accidents with this chromebook). Although you must mail in the device for repair, that can sometimes be less time consuming than looking for a trustworthy repair shop, etc.

Zero Coverage. Zero Customer Service. Please do not buy.
Although Square Trade has the reputable brand of Allstate behind them, they have none of the customer service or support of their "parent" brand. I purchased four different square trade protection plans to cover both large and small purchases (laptop & lawnmower) over the last 3 years. I finally called to put in two claims in December 2018 & the experience was as follows:1. Spent 30 minutes with a rep & wasn't able to file the claim since their entire system crashed; we waited for a few minutes & she told me to go online and file it myself2. Went online two days later & after completing the purchase verification & my own report the website wouldn't file the claim and told me to call them - I did; and got transferred twice & spent 20 more minutes on the phone without being able to submit the claim3. Called a third time & finally submitted the claim for my laptop (only one of two I needed) and they sent me an email with a link to print a shipping slip to a repair facility.4. The link in the email was broken & the shipping slip did not load ; so I called again & at this point, completely fed up with them & their process I asked to cancel the claim & have a prorated amount returned to me for the actual coverage.5. Proceeded to cancel all 4 of my "coverage" with them since they're clearly uselessI'm now posting this on all of my previous purchases to let people know not to buy this protection.They will not help you when you need it.Please don't waste your money or your time.
