An absolute favourite in our house. Utterly brilliant

originally borrowed this from the library but became my son's favourite book - he knows all the words to the story and reads it along with you - it's a lovely kids story!!

We first got this from the library for our daughter and kept renewing it and renewing it. Eventually bought it and still insists on reading it most nights.

My 18 month old loves this and has since she was just a few months old. I think it is the simplicity of the story, the illustration of the "monster" with his bold colours and big eyes and the easy to follow story - "what's he looking for" I ask her, "teddy!" she shouts. She squeals with excitements when monster appears at the door and now does the stomping and pointing (He's there, he's there!) at the relevant pages. There are lots of clear bright pictures of items for her to point to when you ask. One of the first items she could point to was the duck. We got this book from the library before it was available to buy and have had it on loan permanently.
