Wood and Tampico Bottle Brush - Pot Brush - Vegetable Brush Set - Zero Waste, Compostable & Biodegradable Kitchen Brushes

I was so happy to find these brushes that are untreated/uncoated as this is the best thing for the environment and makes them biodegradable. I read some reviews mentioning their brushes cracked or molded. When getting untreated wood wet and then drying it again and again causes the wood to rot, degrade, crack. Quick fix I learned is to treat the brushes at home with beeswax (I read this on the box) or to use food grade mineral oil as I did (pictured). Treating the wood with mineral oil also gives them a nice looking, deeper toned color. I'm guessing these will last me a long time if properly cared for so I'll come back and update this review if anything changes!

I bought this set as a housewarming gift to myself and I love it! A lot of "green" stuff is super gimmicky and often crap, but I have been using now for about three months and everything is still in great shape. I cook exclusively with cast iron and the pan brush works great. The veggie brush is excellent, and the two types are bristles are super convenient. The bottle brush is a bit wide and there isn't much give in the bristles so I can't get it into a couple of my bottles, but I use it almost daily anyway! I'm excited that I get to compost it (or burn it) at the end of its life. I definitely recommend this set.

Good: the small circular hand scrubber bristles are super strong and durable. Makes for easy clean up on cast iron and stainless steel pans. Could be an issue on non-stick though. Longer brush has been great at getting into hard to reach spots like water bottles.Bad: because it's wood, if you don't continue to put some sort of cutting board wax or butter on it, the handles will crack when they repeatedly get wet then dry outOverall: while I wish I wouldn't have to maintain the wood of this product I will definitely buy again because it's better than throwing more trash away

I really like these brushes! They are also fully compostable which is a huge plus for those trying to limit their plastic consumption or overall impact on the planet. The small round one is perfect for tough stuck on food on dishes and it dried very quickly. The bottle brush is a little larger than expected, but works well enough. The larger brush I actually use to remove pet hair from my blankets and furniture. It works super well for that purpose even though it's meant for other uses.

Scrub brush cracked in a couple weeks of use. It is still functional and we use the items.

Really good brushes. They were a bit larger than I thought but, I was not dissapointed. They work well and dry pretty fast. They came in a cardboard box with no plastic packaging or wrappers. The box has easy care tips and cleaning instruction for the brushes. Really good product for the price and great eco swap. I would recomend. I will be buying more once my other ones, wear out.

I absolutely love this set. Some very helpful tools to prolong the life and usage of this set: always make sure to store them in a dry place after use!! I can't stress this enough. I also try to keep mine from getting completely soaked while washing this helps prevent cracks. Overall a really good product and I am excited to get my fresh new set after 6 months of use!

Had a musty scent upon arrival (May 2022). I understood tampico would have natural woodsy scent, so i tried to ignore it, but I'm allergic to mold and I know it when I smell it. Wood darkened on first use, despite being hung to dry. Soaked in hydrogen peroxide overnight. That lightened the dark spots a little, but brushes still reeked. Left hanging unused over the kitchen sink for the past 10 months to air out. Still reeks. Just used the small brush and the long handle brush a couple days ago. Reeked even worse when wet. Hung to dry again, sprayed with peroxide. Definitely moldy, as more black spots have appeared. They also left same moldy stench in my coffee pot and plastic filter basket. Coffee maker is new and was washed before with a regular dish cloth, so it's not the coffee maker items that are the problem. I had bought this brush set specifically to use on the coffee filter ribbed basket because i like to keep it very clean and wash all the oils out of it after every use. After waiting nearly a year to use these brushes, hoping for easier cleaning, I'm afraid they've ruined the plastic basket. Currently soaking the coffee maker items in ammonia. Tossing these brushes in the trash. Would write to the seller, but Amazon does not provide the contact info. Hope they see this review. Will purchase a different set from a different seller that I had also bought before. Those are still going strong after daily use by my daughter and her 10-month-old baby. That set just didn't have the small "shaving cream" style brush that I wanted for cleaning the coffee filter basket.
