Q: Trying to read up on reviews on which shade to try. I have been using the airbrush foundation by jerome. Are the shades comparable?

Yes and I have the breeze which they have the colors you use. What I found out is if you want it a little darker or lighter you can mix shades a get a good tone

Q: They can neither seem to make available nor keep in stock the light/medium, so is the next shade up in medium closer to light/med or much darker?

I actually needed the darker shade

Q: Can this be applied with a wet beauty blender instead of the brush on occasion?

The Silk Spray foundation is specially formulated to work with the buffing brush. I would recommend only applying it with the buffing brush. If you would like to further blend the foundation with a beauty blender after it's been buffed on with the brush that would be fine.
