Precrimp 45A lug wings to parallel with a pliers before inserting them into the Powerpole crimper.
I used the Anderson Pole crimper and a Klein wire stripper for this. After my initial miscrimp, I reallized that you need to "precrimp" the 45A lugs so that you don't have a butterfly configuraton when you try to introduce them into the crimper. Otherwise it will rotate and you could get a twisted crimp which then can't be inserted into the plastic connectors. After I remedied this, I knocked off the remaing two dozen without a hitch. The other reversible error is being sure that both red and black plastic connectors align with the other connectors as far as male to female. This is a 50-50 chance or error, so before you slide the plastic connectors together and the black plastic cover, make sure they will align with the other couple. Finally, when inserting a crimped lug into the plastic connector, the tip of the crimped lug should be pointed down towards the metal contact inside the red or black plastic conector and away from, as if deflecting downward off of, the cross ridge inside the plastic connector. Hard to see unless you have plentify of light.

Pretty good connectors
These are some of the better powerpoles I've found. The contacts accepted the crimp with no issues, and the tab inside the housing doesn't deform.

Pretty decent fit and function
Mates pretty well with the Anderson Power brand. I used actual Anderson 45A connectors, because the ones in the kit don't look like the material would have as high of a contact force. I need this project to have full current capability, but the contacts in the kit should work fine fro most things.

Safe way to share connections
Our HAM radio club has standardized on these connectors. Everybodys radios can hook up to power supplies or batteries without danger of reversed polarity. This was to replenish my supply of connecyors.

Comparable to the band name
These are good quality and similar to the Anderson power pole brand. I changed our all of my power connectors with these.

updated 4/2023-managed to make them work. i could not get the insert in the plastic piece.
Tried using one. Maybe stiffer wire is needed for this to work on. But tried getting the wire with the insert on it into the plastic piece and i could not get it into the plastic piece. not sure if the wire is to soft or big for it to be put in. I prefer the mc4 connectors and will use them instead for that. will try to use these again on some other connection and see if i can get them to work for me.They are very hard to get into the plastic piece. I managed it 2 times out of the 4 I have tried to use them. It helps if the wire is stiff, I usually have to use a small flathead screw driver, put it against the metal crimp piece and try to knock on the end of the plastic piece to force them all the way in. Barely fits 10awg wire into the plastic piece, have to remove the insulation back far enough to allow for the amount of wire going into it. I would recommend getting higher priced ones that should be easier to use or just go with something else like mc4 or the 50 amp anderson wire connectors.

Incredible product love the rubber boots
If you're in ham radio or emergency services or anything like that and you're looking for the best connector I recommend this set purely because it comes with the rubber boots unfortunately it does not come with the Locking pin but it doesn't really move around at all with the rubber boot anyways something I always found that helps if you're not using the Locking pin make sure to side that slides in from The Wire end always has a little more pressure on it instead of having completely even cuts and I bought this sat versus the one without the rubber boots just because I was going to be converting some extension cords to DC Anderson ports and I found that if you're going to be using anything with an outside casing like an extension cord or most AC cords the rubber boot makes it a all around more cleaner look I recommend it and it's a great way to recycle old extension cords as long as you check that there's no resistance between the two polarities

They work
Only regret is my crimping tool. I have an Astro crimper with interchangable heads and with these connectors it doesn't smash them evenly. Ok, one more thing... I've got a ton of Powerpole terminal shells as all the kits have an assortment of terminals that match the number of shells... exactly. Good luck not damaging a terminal... I haven't found anyone selling just this style 45a terminal. I used these on a watt meter that unfortunately is off on it's voltage reading and if I replace it I'm wasting 4 more terminals even though I can reuse the shells. I'd like the option to buy just terminals since the shells are universal regardless of the amperage terminal you use.
