HollonSafe Hollon PM-1814C TL-15 Rate Safe, Gray, Medium

I purchased the PM-1814 safe. It apparently weighs 620 lbs. I say apparently, because the manufacturer, Hollon Safe Co. does not have drawings for the safe. I wanted to know where the bolt-down hole was so that I could drill the hole into the cconcrete floor, install the anchor, and then bolt the safe down when it was put into place. However, the Hollon tech support person told me that they could not tell me where the bolt hole is located because they do not have drawings for their own safe. I was told that safe body is manufactured overseas and shipped to USA for lock installation. They recommended putting the safe in place and then drilling the hole into the concrete from inside the safe. My experience is that drilling a large diameter (~1") hole in concrete requires significant pressure which would be hard to apply with my arms extended into the safe. I'm disappointed in Hollon Safe Co.

If you are looking for a real safe to protect against fire and burglary, this is the safe you need to buy. This unit is TL-15 rated, and will take more than a crowbar to take apart. I was originally looking at one of the many gun safes on the market only to find out that the RSC rated safes are more to protect your guns from children than protecting valuables from burglars. If you are interested in fire and theft protection, this is where you need to start.

I rarely write reviews, but I had to this time ! this safe is top of the line once bolted down almost impossible to move the security level is great up to 20 times the value of the safe. Remember don't tell anyone of your purchase, have two strong persons to assist , HD dolly, stainless steel 6" by 5/8 hex head bolt with 3 progressive size washers, concrete anchors with a little epoxy should help you sleep comfortable at night with a 1911 under your pillow. Mix a little dish washing liquid and water to help slide. Also added a camera to go with it. This. is a family heirloom.
