This is NOT a beginner kickboard. If you're looking for a full body raft, this is not it!
Nor is this a kid's kickboard just because it's much smaller than a typical kickboard.----This is an amazing and incredible high-concept kickboard for those whoknow how to keep their body afloat and horizontal ( no sinking legs!) without dependency on any flotation device. This board will keep you lower in the water than your typical kickboard. It's the perfect size for me, and my arms have never been comfier as I glided up and down my public Olympic-size pool in pure bliss! OMG, do I love this thing!!!!Reading through the reviews here, it's obvious that there are larger swimmers who praise this board and larger swimmers who do not. I passed this board around to the big guys I swim with ( 6ft, 180, and up), and all of them could easily stay afloat and kick comfortably with no issues. No sinking, no problems. This board demands that you've got some skills and will put in some WORK to kick with it!If you want and/ or need a raft-like thing to keep you effortlessly afloat, save yourself the frustration, money, and time, and do not get this kickboard.

Lightweight, small, and easy to use
I read other reviews and wasn't entirely sure about this kickboard, but it's been great so far. I'm not sure that it's ergonomically better than anything else I've used, but I wanted something smaller that would fit in my swimbag. I had a short moment about halfway down the pool where I shifted my weight and it went under, but you have to remember that this is NOT a personal flotation device - it simply helps keep me balanced while practicing my kicks. I do wish it would have been a color other than black, but I can definitely live with it since overall the board seems sturdy and does what I need it to do. Another Tyr product that just works and is a pretty good value.

AMAZING KICK BOARD
This is my absolute favorite kick board for swim practice! My team had these and I loved it so much I had to get my own!! So comfortable for long kicking sets!

If you are a swimmer this is perfect
It has a nice shape where your arms go and grab the front. But unlike the more common kick boards this board dose not provide too much buoyancy so you are in a prefect position that is consistent with how you swim. If you like to climb up on a kick board this is not for your. It fits in my swim bag easily and is very light. So if you want to do a kick workout that does not sacrifice your normal shape while swimming this is for you. As we all know many people prefer to hold the front of the kick board and kick with their head way out of the water. Well you cannot do this with this board. In fact you can easily practice your head position when breathing and in fact this is the best way to breath because your head is not going to be totally out of the water, A great board.

Decent kick board, but it isn't super supportive
I am not a big guy. I am 5'10 and about 165lbs. I swim a good bit and know what I am doing. I enjoy this kickboard, and the shape is nice, but the buoyancy is a quite a bit less than I was expecting. It takes quite a bit of effort for me to not have it a few inches under the water while I am using it. That in turn makes it so I have to turn my head to breath, instead of just keeping my head up to breathe, and focusing on just my kicking.

Great Kickboard
I’m an adult male lap swimmer and always mix in some kick laps in my workout. This TYR is perfect for its purpose. The outer surface is firm and grippy, buoyancy is just right for lap swimming, and the slight catamaran shape keeps your hands at the waterline. My impression is it’s going to be very durable.

Light and contoured
I used to swim a lot in high school and now am getting back into it. Bought this board to supplement my lap swimming efforts as most of my sports equipment stores nearby had at most one kickboard option. This felt expensive for what it is, but I DO love the following key features:1. It’s superbly light. This makes it very comfortable to carry in my gear bag.2. It’s contoured. It’s so much of a smooth go in the pool and I attribute this to its contouring. For being a basic piece of foam, it has impressed me and I’m enjoying it very much. Worth the cost.

Nice board depending on your needs
I'm a bit disappointed in this kickboard but only because it isn't working for the reason I purchased it. I purchased this particular board because of it's contours and cutouts to fit the body. I've had 2 back surgery and I'm not able to swim on my stomach and was hoping by the description that it would help aid in supporting my upper torso so that I would be able to swim on my stomach. I'm 5' 1" and weigh 127 so the size of the board fits my body frame comfortably, i just can't seem to get it to stay in place while swimming. I do like the material that the kickboard is made out of as it seems durable. I'm hoping with time I'll fine some technique to use the board to help me get some kind of water exercise. I feel like it is made for smaller framed people as it is small so make sure you do look at the measurements before you purchase. I believe anyone wanting a kickboard would like this board because of the way it's shaped and the quality of material it's made of. Overall I still like the board and hope I'll find a way to incorporate it in my swimming exercises.
