Quality luggage
Bought earlier 2024 and took it on a 21 day trip to SE Asia. Utilized a clear luggage cover over the bag and there is no damage of any kind on this Travelpro medium check in, dark brown or expresso color. It's very roomy and easy to utilize since it opens like a trunk. In checking the specs, it states a 97L volume, which compared to many trunk style luggage, is a larger capacity. When abroad, I saw a few trunk style pieces at the luggage area, and speculated that they were roomier, but if the specs listed on Amazon are correct, this Travelpro beats them outright for space. The trunks I'm comparing are not XL sizes but comparable in outer dimensions to this medium check in. The outer material is a premium soft sided material and is expandable. The only minor con I have has to do with the design of the handle which sticks out from the rail at the top due to padding. If the smaller bag you want to piggyback on this piece doesn't have a wide enough trolley strap, then it gets a little difficult to slip over the handle. By no means a dealbreaker but just something to consider if you plan on placing a personal item backpack or similar on top. Overall this is a sturdy, good looking and classy piece of luggage and I'm happy with this Platinum Elite.

Great suitcase for extended travel.
My wife and I just got back from two weeks overseas. This suitcase is terrific. It is very well made with substantial durable fabric and many thoughtful details. The bag is quite spacious and I agree with other reviewers who have noted that bigger bags are likely to go over the international weight limit. Details include great wheels, well designed interior spaces, rich color and better than expected zippers and pulls. I like the bag so much, I ordered the matching backpack for my next trip.

Quality Luggage
Purchased the Platinum Elite medium check-in bag about a month ago. Finally got to use it. What an awesome bag! I used the lid part with 5 shirts and hangers. Also packed about 2 days prior..when I unpacked the shirts, hung them directly in the closet and no wrinkles! I also used the Travelpro compression cubes, WOW! What a difference. In the large one I put in feed, 2 pair Docker pants, 2 pair of shorts, 4 other shirts. When I unpacked these, also, no wrinkles! The reason I am impressed is that I have been traveling for about 13 years in my home state for work. I have over 1,000 nights at Marriott. I was using another suitcase that also worked real well, but I rolled all my clothes. That does work, but I fit so much more in the suitcase with the compression cubes! Amazing! Wish I discovered these earlier as I retire in 5 months. I purchased the Travelpro Platinum Elite as a gift for myself as we plan to travel internationally quite a bit. This suitcase is well made, love the leather trim and handles, and the wheels are amazing. I also researched Briggs and Riley. This bag is as good, if not better that the Briggs and Riley ZDX line, and half the cost. For the Platinum Elite, Travelpro has a lifetime warranty like Briggs and Riley. But for their soft side Platinum Elite only. Others have shorter warranties. I would recommend this bag, their Platinum Elite International Carry-on, and their 27L Platinum Elite backpack to anyone looking for a quality product that does not break the bank!

Light Weight , Well Constructed, and Functional
After having a great experience with my carry-on Travelpro, I opted for this mid-sized checked version. The bag is very light weight, but it doesn't feel at all flimsy. The construction is first rate, the zippers feel sturdy and move smoothly. Likewise the handle, effortlessly retracts and expands with smooth precision, yet never feels loose or wobbly. The wheels are smooth, and the bag glides effortlessly around tight corners when navigating airport serpentine lines. The layout of the various pouches and compartments is well thought through and allows you to pack in a logical manner. The suiter is my least favorite feature. It is the same design as the one form my carry-on bag which I found to be acceptable, but not great. To be honest, I usually just remove it more often than not these days. While there are less expensive bags on the market, I have become convinced that Travelpro is worth the extra cost. Overall, a great bag that I highly recommend.

Well built and great value
Amazing quality and they hold up well to travel. We bought another one as mine has been rock solid and still looks new after a lot of flights and use in regional travel. The fitment is never a problem with overhead storage on a flight and it has held up well to handlers when they have to stow it on small places.

Waring: Travelpro Strands International Travelers – AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Their Warranty is a Lie!
This review isn't just about the bag itself – it's about Travelpro's catastrophic failure in customer support for anyone living, working, or traveling outside the United States. If you're an international customer, or plan to be, you need to read this before you make a costly mistake, because you could end up with a useless bag! Let's be 100% clear: Travelpro refuses to ship spare parts outside the US, even if the bag is under warranty, and even if you offer to cover the cost for the spare parts and the shipping fees, they will flat out refuse you! This isn't just inconvenient; it's a fundamental flaw that renders their warranty and their products useless for a significant portion of the global population. The bag is not cheap either. I speak from infuriating personal experience. While on an international trip, my Travelpro Platinum Elite 25-inch bag got damaged in transit. You'd think a premium travel brand would stand by its product, right? Wrong. I sent 10 emails trying to explain the situation and convince them to help. Their response was always the same: a refusal to ship any parts outside the US. Imagine being stranded with a broken, unusable bag and the company literally telling you they won't do anything. This company clearly does not care about the people who actually use their products around the world. While the bag's build quality isn't terrible, it has a significant design flaw that speaks to a lack of practical user testing. The main interior cover pocket opens downwards. If you lean the bag's lid against a wall (as most people do when packing or unpacking especially while in a hotel), opening this pocket means everything inside will spill out onto the floor. It's a minor annoyance compared to the spare parts debacle, but it's indicative of a company that doesn't fully understand real-world travel needs. If you are an international traveler, or if you ever leave the US, do yourself a massive favor and look elsewhere. Make sure they offer an international warranty and actually stand behind it. Because Travelpro does not! I even have a YT vid entitled Travelpro 25in Platinum Elite Expandable Softsided Spinner Luggage Review, and I list reasons why you should avoid this bag anyway, but that review was before I experienced their appalling international customer service. This company needs to rethink its global strategy, or frankly, get out of the international market entirely. Until they fix this glaring, anti-customer policy, they deserve every penny they lose. Save your money, save your sanity, and buy from a company that actually supports its customers worldwide.

These work aillon times better than regular cases
These are fabulous. We have replaced our suitcases and carry ons with this brand. I realize they cost a significant amount more than others, but if you travel a lot these are worth the investment. They make getting thru an airport *so* much easier. They roll really well making navigation around other people much easier and they go over bumps with so much less jaring. They also seem to get hung up less saving us from having to yank on or lift cases over bumps too. They are also easier to pack in. I honestly cannot explain *why* this is true, but it is. It seems like I can fit more into them and also stay more organized. I love the front pockets too. They are just so much more useful. The zippers make them easier to access and the way they are designed make them easier to pack in and hold much more. I do realize these are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. We are in our fifties, so we have many years of travel to compare these with and I think they are worth it. One more thing to mention: I have chronic pain and travel is not easy for me. The dragging cases thru airports and then to the car is really hard for me. These have made a big difference for me. They not only are easier on my body, they are help me to be more independent; I don't need as much help as I normally do. I never like having to depend so much on my husband to manage all our bags on his own. I am actually able to handle my bags on my own now. That's a *huge* blessing for both of us. We are super pleased with these investments pieces.

Love love love!
I already owned one of these medium check in suitcases, a large check-in, and two carry-one, but b/c the large was SO large (bigger than most airlines allow without a hefty fee), I wanted a second medium. It’s well-made, has nice features, and won’t completely break the bank, like some other of the better brands. The features I love the most are the ergonomic handles, made just right for pushing the case and very durable. The smooth rolling wheels that orient themselves are the BEST to push around, making the Travelpro Platinum Elite libe a dream.
