Contains: Quart Mylar® Bags (8” x12”) 300cc oxygen absorbers packaged in 10-packs (oxygen indicator included in each package) (1) PackFreshUSA® Long Term Food Storage Guide Mylar® Bags PackFreshUSA’s Mylar® films have an extremely low Oxygen Transmission Rates due to a foil layer that is thicker than imports and competitors. The thickness of the film overall is not as important as the thickness and quality of this metalization when it comes to long-term food storage; this is because oxygen cannot penetrate metal. And strength? Even one square inch of our Mylar® film can support the weight of two and a half cinder blocks! Oxygen Absorbers Convenient 10-Packs allow you to open smaller quantities at a time, reducing exposure, waste and the need to reseal those you are not using. PackFreshUSA®’s OAPs also absorb 180 to 300% of their rating, giving you a buffer of safety, and oxygen indicators guarantee freshness. PackFreshUSA® oxygen absorbers are safe for direct food contact and all of the materials used in their manufacture are non-toxic. Why Choose PackFreshUSA®? We believe it is vital that our buyers feel 100% confident in the security of their food storage and we back that up with an unconditional guarantee. High Risk of Puncture. Too thin and fragile!
I have purchased 4 different brands of Mylar bags in the pastand this is the only one that I have serious concerns about the thickness. The seller claims that thickness isn’t an indicator of its ability to prevent oxygen from getting in and I was intrigued by this claim. Now that I’ve had a chance to assess for myself, I’m rejecting this claim as just a way to sell a product using cheaper materials. This, of course, is only my opinion. My evidence is this: I filled one of these bags with freeze dried pulled pork. There are absolutely no bones or bone fragments in the meat. However, the meat is crisp and brittle enough to create small pinhead size dimples in this thin material which to me looks almost like there could be a pinhole. My other Mylar bags do not do this, and I don’t feel like I want to take a risk only to discover 10 years down the road that my suspicions were confirmed. The seller claims it can withstand pressures equivalent to 2.5 cinder blocks per square inch but that does not mean it can withstand punctures, even with blunt and fragile materials. No thanks. I’m not risking it so I will return them.

Make 'em work for the title of best on the market
I have been using these bags for a couple of years now in my preps and they perform very well. I usually use them for two items, in that I fill half of the bag , seal it then move up an inch & seal it again. Add more food then seal it again. Depending on the food product, I usually get two food products from one qt. bag.

Beginner Emergency Prepper very pleased with these products!!!
I live on Maui, and the hurricane predictions have come out for this year, and it is not going to be good. Of course one never really knows, as we were lucky last year when we had two back to back hurricanes that both went south at the last minute. We have been lucky and not been hit severely for 25 years with Iniki. However they have now told us that West Maui, where I live, could get cut off from the rest of the island, where the hospital and everything else is, and that people were pretty much on their own. They told us that we should prepare by having enough food and water for each member of the family for one month. I did the math, and figured out what are the best items to get, things that I normally eat anyway. Using these mylar bags is something new to me, but I've been using them to prepare for emergency, and if one doesn't come then I'll just eat it and replace as I go. I was amazed at how after sealing some banana chips, dried apple, and some beef jerky, with the added oxygen remover, how much oxygen it takes out of the bag. Some of the things can last for many years and will be as fresh as the day they went in when I open them up. I don't know why I haven't been using these anyway. Especially since it's just me and my cat. I can make my Costco items stay fresh for much longer. I will be storing my food this way from here on out.

excellent product and thoughtful packaging
So glad I bought this product for my first experience in oxygen sealing. The bags are strong, they're easy to fill, and *super* easy to seal. The instructions are not lengthy, but they are comprehensive. I did look on youtube at a couple videos showing how to use a hair straightener to seal. Well, it's as easy as the instructions say. I did get one idea from them though. After I had all my bags packed, I sealed them halfway and then I opened the oxygen absorber package. Threw in an oxygen absorber, finished the seal. This helped me work even more quickly without exposing the packets to too much oxygen. Also I used a bag clip to close the bag holding the oxygen absorbers (in between uses.)I really appreciate having the oxygen absorbers in 10 packs. While I am sure that mason jars will keep them fresh enough, I prefer to just leave the absorbers in their original, factory sealed bag. 10-packs are a useful size for my needs. These absorbers are powerful. Although I worked quickly and only sealed 8 bags, by the time I was ready to "shake out" the bags to make them uniform and flat, the first few bags had already snugged up tight. I could still shape them, that wasn't a problem, but I was amazed at the speed they worked. These absorbers only take the oxygen out, which is 1/5th of air, so these packages do not (usually) appear vacuum sealed. Still, the do get firmer and you can tell that the seal, the bag, and the absorber have worked.I can also tell that this is a professional and caring company that prides itself on quality. I did not need any customer service but I am quite sure it would have been good if I *had* needed it.I'm a completely satisfied customer.

How I used this product
Awesome. I am preparing meals for back packing in lots of 10 due to oxygen absorbers being in 10-pak sealed bags. Thru trail and error (I took a No 10 can of Mountain House Gronola with Milk & Blueberries and measured out the can's 20 servings into 10 mylar bags, adding two health supplements (Lion's Mane and Chlorella). At first I was not getting the air fully out, so I decided to cut the bags in half and give them a second go round - this time my FoodSaver Vac Sealer drew out all the air and compressed the 10-meals perfectly! I also made some 2-serving Rasin Nut Bran (1.5 cups) and Carnation Instant Milk (1.5 cups milk) and made more breakfast meals. The bags I cut in half after sealing once were recycled for for items not needing air absorbers, like one packet of swiss miss and one packet of Carnation Breakfast Essentials (these are paper individual servings but together make a nice on the go no mess meal drink). The thing I love is buying a 20-serving can of mountain house for 1/2 price of 10-individual meals packets and then adding nutritional supplements in addition to the food and saving money. My next meal project involved another 10-mylar bags or Harmony House Back Packer dried foods and adding other dried foods to create yet more meals, using again the 10-packs of oxygen absorbers. The key to using the 100 mylar bags is to make 10 sets of bags and oxygen absorbers at a single sessions.I'll be buying some smaller bags about 1/2 size after writing this review.
