This book offers everything you could imagine in a book. It had humor, romance, murder and it all came together perfectly. I have recommended this book to a few people.

One of the Least Angsty Heroes Ever
THE STORY: Tiffany Warren is being sent to the father that she doesn't remember in order to marry her family's enemies to finalize the peace between them. She doesn't want to leave civilized New York for the wilds of the west. When she arrives in town, she is mistaken as the housekeeper coming to work for her family. As a result of the mistaken identity, Tiffany ends up working in the house of her fiance, Hunter Callahan. Tiffany believes that impersonating the housekeeper will allow her to find out the truth about her fiance's character. Tiffany doesn't intend on staying in the west, but she ends up liking Hunter more than she expected.OPINION: This story was not what I expected primarily because the hero was so incredibly fully of humor and cheer and is a nice guy. Hunter is one of the nicest heroes I have ever read about. In the beginning, Tiffany was rather annoying. She appeared spoiled and self-centered. When she arrives at the Callahan ranch, however, and takes on being the housekeeper, she redeemed herself by working hard, being creative and open minded. Because everyone ended up being so nice, there was little drama between the couple and thus I didn't feel that the romance worked as well here as I would have expected.WORTH MENTIONING: I tend to prefer angsty heroes and therefore was initially attracted more to Degan Grant, the gunslinger, than to Hunter, the hero. Hunter, however, is such a nice guy that it is hard to hold out against him.FINAL DECISION: What made this story for me was the smiling, friendly, nice hero who doesn't really have problems and issues.CONNECTED BOOKS: ONE HEART TO WIN is followed by WILDFIRE IN HIS ARMS but the books can be read independent of one another.STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars.

Aggravating.....
Tiffany is a New York city girl being sent to Montana to reunite with her father after fifteen years of separation. She will also get a chance to meet her betrothed, a neighboring ranchers son who her father and brothers have been locked in a feud with for generations. Tiffany is not happy about any of it, a father who didn't bother to get to know her, a forced marriage, and a ridiculous feud that has caused no small amount of heartache. She has a plan and it's getting back to New York as soon as possible still single, even if she has to deceive everyone involved to do it.First off let me start by saying I am a huge Johanna Lindsey fan. I have read almost all of her books. She is an excellent writer her dialogue is smooth, her storyline's cohesive, and the romance factor, flirting, steamy scenes....steamy enough and vary depending on the book/series. This book was pretty mild in that department focusing more on all the inner and outlying plot points. All in all it was an ok read here is where I had a problem......in my personal preference I detest books that center their romances around total deception and lies. Not only having a main character do it, but then have side characters do it as well in support of. It is absolutely frustrating and just becomes ridiculous and stupid. You almost expected the three stooges or a pie throwing scene to break out at any moment and the reasons behind all the subterfuge are generally silly, immature, and/or unnecessary. If after eighty percent of the book goes by and you finally get the characters to start coming clean and in answer to their reason one of the characters says.....why didn't you just confide in me and trust that I could handle it......ummm yah duh fifteen years of heartache and turmoil and trouble because you couldn't get out a few words.....it's a weak plot! I wanted to throw my iPad across the room a couple of times during this book. I find myself not wanting to invest my emotions on the romance because it's all being built on a lie and it's all going to fall apart.Anyway, if you don't mind that sort of storyline then have at it, otherwise avoid this one. Her favorite series of mine is The Mallory's so I recommend you start there. Enjoy!

Taming the Montana Heat
Johanna Lindsey is my guilty pleasure. She writes those cheesy romance novels entwined with some heat that some people are uncomfortable with. I just downloaded this book on my kindle for $2.99 and finished it quickly. Her books are generally an easy read and a quick read but I enjoy them all the same. Thank goodness their cheap as then I would feel even guiltier about my guilty pleasure. Most of her other books that I have read all dealt with English society high-class women but this one takes you to the cattle ranching territory in Montana. The woman is also a high-society woman falling for a cowboy. It is all historical romance fiction so the setting is when the trains were fairly new and the town just beginning to flourish. I'm not betting on any of the history to be accurate but that is okay as it is not what the focus of the story is. Tiffany Warren was betrothed to her families neighbor Hunter Callahan. The two families have been feuding over generations and much of the feud is misunderstandings and forgotten family stories. Tiffany and her mother left the ranch when she was only four and when she was of age was forced to come back for a wedding. Unsure of the one she was supposed to call father and unsure of her betrothed, fate brought her an opportunity that allowed her to pretend to be a housekeeper for the Callahans so she could see who her fiancee truly was without any pretensions and avoid meeting her father whom she believed abandoned her. Like I said, it was a cheap thrill that I was able to finish quickly partly because I enjoyed it so much.

not one of her best
I have to admit I was looking forward to reading this book, I am an avid fan of johanna Lindsey but haven't read one of hers for a while, I am so disappointed , in fact the story was way off her usual feisty characters and great plots ,I've preordered her latest which is out soon, I hope it's better than this work because I'll just have to give her a miss (it's like someone else wrote the book).
