Core Pine Shelf Kit 4Ft in length & 7&half inches in depth
Arrived in good time and well packaged. Good value for money. Looks good once up and maybe painted or varnished. I would purchase from this supplier again...AS FOR ASSEMBLY! I just used my own common sense and made sure I had tools to hand, of which I used:1). a spirit level2). a metal retracting tape measure3). an electric drill and drill piece the size of the raw plugs4). a screwdriver5). rubber gloves6). a pencil6). a long sewing needle (yes that's right)7). a tub of polyfilla8). a small metal wall paper scraper9). a damp clothJust to be on the safe side, allow yourself about a couple of hours. Each small oblong block of wood has ever so slightly different aligned holes, so don't use just one as a master block to work from. THE BLOCK HAS THREE LARGE HOLES ON THE FRONT WITH TWO SMALL HOLES AND THE BACK HAS TWO LARGE HOLES AND THREE SMALL HOLES!!!!!! Make sure you are able to make markings on the wall threw each of the three holes with a long sewing needle, then go over the marks with a pencil (by doing this you will have exact holes with each small oblong block of wood.Once your marks are on the wall from the first small wooden block, use the measuring tape and spirit level for the next small wooden block (for the 4ft length wooden shelf) measure 77cm's across and that's where the next small wooden block's holes are to be marked on the wall, as above.Drill the holes and fill them in with the polyfilla, using the metal scrapper to force the substance into the holes. Now put the raw plugs into the holes and again use some more polyfilla in the same way as above...Screw in two of the smaller screws into the two holes, found on the back of the small block of wood (found in the middle) and into the shaped shelf support. Do this for both wooden wall blocks and shelf supports. Then using three of the bigger screws, screw them into the wooden wall blocks and into the wall. Leave to set over night if you can, that way the polyfilla should be rock hard and the wooden wall and shelf supporting blocks be really secure...Now all you have to do is secure the wooden shelving to the supports. Just use No Nails Glue for quickness. Paint or vanish if desired and once dry use as desired. Nothing too heavy though!!! I used mine for my sons books... GOOD LUCK.

Don’t bother
Cheap wood snaps easy, will not hold much at all on it with fixing method provided. I bought better shelf kits from The Range store for cheaper with actual wood and brackets included pre drilled

My wife ordered this while I was away, I almost cried when she told me how much it was. I can't remember how much it was at the time, and I'm not sure what the price of it is now, but I remember the heart ache. However, it is a sturdy little shelf and very easy to fix on the wall.

Formally a good shelf that has now being fobbed off with garbage brackets (see edit)
This is a reasonably good shelf. The brackets are a bit odd whereby you pre-construct them but once it is up, it seemed robust - albeit with a bit of customization. I pre-painted mine red for a child's room, and the paint adheres well and dries quickly. The fittings are masonry plugs only but I was never intending on using them or their screws irrespective and used my customary Fischer Duopowers which are good for both masonry and plasterboard. Fitting the shelf onto the brackets is a bit confusing whereby there is no discernible method provided and they just produce vague guidance in the instructions to use no nails glue, wood plugs or something or other. This would be acceptable but I knew a glued shelf would come undone in a couple of years through usage. My advice is to simply screw countersunk screws down the top of the shelf into the two brackets. When the brackets are fitted, place shelf on top and and trace around brackets on the shelf's underside. Now remove shelf and screw two evenly placed screws (30mm screws say) upwards in the middle of the markings until they rupture the top surface – do this for both brackets. You could even get away with just using one screw per bracket. Now unscrew screws from shelf and place shelf back on brackets making sure everything is aligned with markings. Come down those same holes into bracket with same screw - a bit of elbow grease should sink the screw so they are flush or under-flush with surface. The problem is solved! If you're painting the shelf and care about aesthetics then a dab of plaster and paint will cover the screws up.Edit (02 Aug 2023), docking stars from 4 to 1.Ordered some more of these and they have completely changed the brackets. Now you put a fixing in the wall for each bracket and sort of hook the brackets on and place the shelf on top of them! I But that is not the worst of it. I put the shelves up with my customary wall fixings (not theirs provided) and started to put books up; the thing then started to come away. It certainly wasn't my wall fixings but the actual metal brackets which are are each affixed by two miniscule screws - the sort you get in mobile phones and are used on spectacles! This large shelf, which presumably should carry a fair weight given size, was literally been held up by 4 of these screws - I have provided photographic evidence of their size next to a 20p piece!I should have checked the quality before putting the thing up.So, I replaced these screws with large good quality screws (5x40mm) and put everything back up. My only fear was for the metal brackets, whether or not they were of a cheap design and would warp under pressure. My fears were indeed confirmed: the shelf began to peel away again as soon as I put books on it - it would be secure enough for a few ornaments in this state! To conclude: the brackets are completely useless - junk - and I have had to purchase some replacement brackets. I will not be buying these shelves again.

Great but different from picture
I ordered 2 of these and thought they were great. Ordered another and it's different! The advert does show 2 different shelves but all 3 are different to the pictures shown. If you want more than one just make sure you order them all at the same time. Quality, price and delivery are all 5 star. It is just a shame that you don't get the same when you assume you are ordering the same thing from the same advert!
