The Alchemy of Voice: Transform and Enrich Your Life Through the Power of Your Voice

An Exquisite Exploration of Voice and its Healing Impact on Our Lives
I am a vocalist and voice coach, and absolutely love this 'bible' that Stewart Pearce has created. The book offers both a comprehensive and heartfelt look at the transformational power and beauty of the voice and its impact on our lives. Pearce outlines his approach to working with the voice on a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual level with specific exercises and anecdotes of how his methods have made life-changing differences in his clients. This is a book for anyone interested in exploring the deeper aspects of how our 'signature note' is formed and how it helps us become more relaxed, open, authentic, and tuned in to our true sound (and self, of course) - and so much more. It is as practical as it is metaphysical.

Familiar principles applied to a new topic
I bought this book because I'm going to a seminar taught by the author this summer. I find it to be an amalgam of a range of familiar new-age and spiritual teaching, applied to the voice and the way we express ourselves. It's a unique take on the usual chakras-and-energy-body theories. The outcome of the exercises, especially the ones given in the early chapters, is going to be practical and useful. Some of the exercise directions were not completely clear, and required a second or third reading to understand. Overall, an interesting book with some good approaches to the topic of voicing ourselves in the world.

This is one of my favorite books for my personal and spiritual development
Stewart Pearce is a blessing to this world. This is one of my favorite books for my personal and spiritual development. No one speaks of sound and the power of our voice like Stewart. If you are a professional who gets in front of people to present this is a must have. This will change the game for you. Thank you Stewart!

If we are to have our voices heard in the ...
If we are to have our voices heard in the world, we are called upon to make it as rich and expressive as our audience deserves. If not all the way to Shakespearean quality, at least use the ideas in this book to take it up a couple of levels. Who knows, today-better conversation, tomorrow-Shakespeare in the park.

A bit difficult to follow
The explanations and exercises were a bit difficult to follow. Thought it might be how things were written. Purchased one track from author's CD by same name and received no further clarification. He does have an amazing voice.

Well written and fascinating
This book takes you through an intriguing perspective on vibrational medicine..so inspiring that I will be attending a workshop this weekend and travelling over 400 miles each way to do so.The perspective takes you through the author's personal experience and then into the practical application of some seemingly simple voice transforming exercises. I was surprised when i could only undertake one of these easily...hence the workshop. I took this on holiday with me and a number of people approached and wanted to talk about what it was about...all from differing backgrounds but all agreeing that the concepts felt sound to them.I believe the book is clearly written so that people can undertake the development in their own world. I chose to hear the author speak at the workshop and then continue the work at home.Definitely worth a read if your life puzzles you sometimes.

getting to know your voice
Just arrived at page 43, no conclusions yet. The first exercise has been suggested, listening to your own voice for a day. Do you whine or are your breathy or timid or bossy, etc? It's all about tone. With a book there is a lot of self reflection required, you are doing the work without any feedback, a bit of a disadvantage.
