Great product, super accurate, works flawlessly
Came faster than expected, that alone is impressive. Directions were easy to understand and the process is quite fast. Tried initially on my Kenwood receiver and Rockford amps, found the receiver doesn't clip at Max volume and that the distortion detector will light up at the same time as the clip indicator on the Rockford amps, so I'd say it's pretty damn accurate. Haven't tried the crossover calculator yet, but I'm sure it's just as accurate. Thanks for the outstanding product.

Great for tuning
Great for tuning! Super easy to use. Tuning level might need to be changed for preference/ recording quality of music. Had to tune 1 or 2 levels below 0 ( highest quality) settings. My expedition has stock audiophile system w Sony xav602 head unit and 2 pioneer in flat 10s. My 95 ski supreme boat has 4 pioneer champion series 10" subs running off a boss riot 3500 amp (cheap) and 6 Alpine 601 type s marine coaxial speakers off a pyle plmra 400w amp.

Works good, some issues testing though
most head units I have tested on speaker level just go to distort as soon as it pick up the signal.Line level it works as it should. The speaker level off the amp works as well if you get a clean signal in.

How did I live without it?
This thing is amazing! I bought a new 2020 challenger and they don't make a stereo head unit to swap out of the car because it won't be compatible with the built in features of the car, so I had to get an active line out converter installed to push the signal to my new after market system. Well, after the amount of money I spent on the system, it wasn't performing the way I was expecting. I looked up some stuff online and saw recommendations for this distortion detector all over. Once I ordered it I followed the very easy instructions and viola! Amazing sound better than anything I could have imagined. My only regret is not picking one up sooner to calibrate the prior system I had.

Easy To Use
Extremely easy to use! Took maybe 10 minutes at most (that was mostly reading the easy to follow instructions) and my music started playing way better. Highly recommend to anyone who does their own music installations

Excellent product, but a couple of picks with Steve Meade Designs.
Nice product. Really deserves 5 stars. If D'Amore was the sole party invested in this product, it would be 5 stars. Im not saying SMD sux. I mean, SMD isnt even bad, the dude knows his shizzle. However, if I, Robert Clark, ever sell a product, and i tweak-out and start signing my signature on all my warehouse inventory, then start labeling my signature on stuff, i sincerely ask anyone to come by and kick me square in the nads, then call me something fitting for my colorful behavior! It's just, I dunno - it just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. Ok, I do have a couple things to air out. Again this is a great product. However, SMD markets it as simpler than it is. He has numerous videos showing a quick 1-minute set up and you're done. OK, after you learn to use it, yes 1 or 2 minutes is prolly right. There are numerous different tones that are required for different settings and things that are not clearly described. Yes, if u read the entire instructions, youll find almost everything is addressed, but it takes a few rounds of reading to sink in. Youll also notice when he has a customer griping about the DD1, he knows its because the customer hasnt read the ENTIRE instructions, so ive seen him respond numerous times to people " you need to read the WHOLE instructions". What steve cant seem to grasp is that the selling points at which every buyer found this product, was a video about the DD1 where is he ever-so-smoothly uses about 4 words to say "check out the DD1, just gonna make a super-quick video showing just how insanely easy it is to set up your amp using the DD1. 8 seconds later, hes like "done", "amp is set", "its that easy, folks", "order yours today, etc. etc". I mean, It's seriously just a weekends worth of work to edit his videos, and rewrite the instructions with all the FAQ clearly answered. Things like, why does distortion occur differently thru the amp than a radio, hense the need for the -10db tone. What happens if i use this on home audio? what about source-material, this is a huge one. Source material recorded at near speaker level is going to distort faster sooner especially thru an aux cable. Ok Aux cables, there should be warning about using the DD1 with a cheap aux cable to play setup tones. Low-level/signal level audio is much easier to screw up than almost anyone this side of yBowers & Wilkins research lab. Then, theres Bluetooth, - you can use a tone app or whatever, but what happens to tones after bluetooth decompression? And u gotta use good cables. Ok, 1 more, the RCA to speaker-level test lead wire deal included with the DD1/CC1, should be better. Basically what im saying is, this is a neato time saving tool, that in the hands of a bunch of Americans can easily be used improperly. Especially if the customer watches a bunch of videos of steve fast-laning. Dont do as steve says in the videos, do as steve says in the comments or email replies! Check out my cool setup.

Works as expected !!!
I purchased these a long while ago. They worked just like they're supposed to. I have set gains on several amplifiers without failure. These will have you tuning you amplifiers quickly and with ease.
