An excellent introduction to revit
The book helps you understand principles talking a more jovial manner, which helps the information process. With clear illustrations, as well as advice I'd recommend it to all beginners, no matter what discipline, myself being from an MEP background, but purposely chose this, as it appeared less dry than other resources, giving knowledge of the program that can be transferred, and grown further. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was there was some confusing parts, although the author makes some effort to cater for metric, I feel just not quite enough. I think the first exercise before putting in the exterior walls would be to download and explain loading families into the project. Myself at times using other families, nominally a different exterior wall, as the the UK version doesn't have the same one. Not realising at the same I could of changed it at the beginning would of avoided some confusion later on down the line.

Excellant
Personally I found this book very good as a starting guide to Revit 2012. There were a few errors but nothing I couldn't resolve myself if one worked through it methodically. I would recommend this book to anyone starting out and also as a good desk reference book to go back to.

The Index is a mess!
How can you publish a book if the Index doesn't match with the pages in the book.example: Curtain Wall Grid - page: 811 to 815If you go to this page, you will learn about Adding Wall Sweeps. If you don't use Index, it could be useful for you.

Very Well Thought Out
While I had experience with other types of CAD programs, REVIT was a bit confusing. I ordered this book to help me walk through the basics. This is well worth the investment. I was able to start on page 1 and quickly became versed in the basic operations within minutes. By the end of Chapter 3, I was able to work confidently with the features explained and was exploring features not covered. While not 100% perfect, this book goes a long way. It is an easy 1-2-3 step process full of concise details and photos. A must for REVIT.

Great for Beginners
Without ever using Revit before, this book lead me through all of the tools with clear and simple descriptions. It very effectively uses a tutorial to draw a six-storey building throughout the book in order to guide you through all that Revit has to offer. This made the book appear to be a lot more relevant in comparison to others, since it is quite evident that the writer has practical real-world experience and knowledge of the program.Overall I am extremely satisfied with this purchase although I would say that there are a few points in the book where the step by step instructions seem to 'jump' a little. As you might be completing one step, which has been given a significant amount of detail, the next step might be written in a manner which assumes you know what you are doing. (Even though the particular item was not covered in the book yet) This did not happen too often throughout the book, however there were a handful of times where I had to re-read a specific section in order to try and understand what the author was asking me to do.I found this to be a small shortfall, and would still recommend this book to anyone with no experience using Revit.

Autodesk Revit Architecture 2013 is a good book for people who are studying to Interior Designers and Architecture
This will be the only book that you will ever need if you are studying to be an Interior Designer and to be an Architect. If you are required to take Revit as part of your core studies, then Autodesk Revit Architecture 2013 No Experience Required is a good book to have. I am a student at College of Southern Nevada Majoring in Interior Design and Architect. I had this book a few weeks now and I have learnt so much in two weeks time. The book takes you step by step on how to use Revit. This book will help you understand Revit a little better. It does not make learning difficult. The steps are clearly explain to the point that a 10 year old child can understand it. i recommand that you get this book before you take your Revit class. I'm sure that you will pass the course with an A. i know that i will.

Best Book by far on Autodesk Revit
This book was purchased by over 50% of the REvit class at our community college after the textbook and teacher left the students perplexed. This book literally walks the reader through every step in the beginning and then weans you as it goes. Nothing is left out it is impossible to get lost. All say it is the best book out there. It is my third book on the topic as I attempt to teach myself this software and so far, I agree with the students.... this is a great book... easy to follow and understand. Well presented material.
