AWESOME EVEN ON PS3 IN 2017 !!!
I originally played this title when it released on the Xbox One, and loved it so much after beating the game on normal, I restarted the game and played through it again on hard.. Not long after that I decided to pick it up for my PS4 and play through it again, and after completing the game I turned around started again and beat it on Hard, just like I did when I played it on my Xbox One.Well, back in December I got into a bad car accident and was bed ridden for a while. I didn't want to move my PS4 or Xbox One from my den so I decided to hook up my PS3 in my bed room, and have been rocking that console since. I played through all my old games ( Uncharted , Killzone, Resistance, The Last of Us , Avatar the video game, etc. etc. etc. ), and have been buying PS3 games off of Amazon. So I came across Thief and without much thought, I said to myself " Why not, I loved it on my Xbox One & PS4 ", so I bought it, and have been having a blast with this PS3 version as well..Graphics :Having played this game previously on my PS4 & Xbox One I can tell there is a bit of a difference in the graphics, but I was absolutely amazed at just how good it looked, there just isn't enough difference between the PS3 version and the others to even care about. The game still looks absolutely stunning. The game contains an amazing amount of detail, and many times I just stopped to take in the view. Although the game takes place primarily at night, this does not diminish the game at all, even with all the darkness it is still a wonderfully beautiful and detailed game.Story : ( Description from the Box )Garrett, the Master Thief, steps out of the shadows into the City. In this treacherous place, where the Baron's Watch spreads a rising tide of fear and oppression, his skills are the only things he can trust. Even the most cautious citizens and their best-guarded possessions are not safe from his reach. As an uprising emerges, Garrett finds himself entangled in growing layers of conflict. Lead by Orion, the voice of the people, the tyrannized citizens will do everything they can to claim back the City from the Baron's grasp. The revolution is inevitable. If Garrett doesn't get involved, the streets will run red with blood and the City will tear itself apart. There are other details about the game that absolutely surprised me, I had no Idea the game would take the turn it did, and it was a welcome, unexpected ( supernatural ) turn. I was completely satisfied with the way the story was heading then all of a sudden you get a curve ball, and it goes in a direction you really didn't expect. I will not tell you what I mean by this because I don't want to ruin it for anyone that has not played the game, but needless to say, it has a great story with a great twist..Conclusion :As you can tell I absolutely LOVE this game and highly recommend it to everyone. I'm sure after I beat this PS3 version multiple times, I will one day undoubtedly play through the other versions again.Solid 5 out of 5NOTE : I ordered this particular copy that is supposed to be the UK version, and this particular UK version comes with the DLC ( The Bank Heist ) for free with, a download code enclosed in the game case. The whole reason I ordered this version was for the free DLC, well Amazon sent me the standard U.S. version that lacks the free DLC, now it will cost me another 6 bucks to get the add on content I wanted. I know 6 bucks isn't much, but it's the principal of the thing, I want what I ordered and paid for, not something else. So If you order this game you may get a UK version or you may get the U.S. version without the extra content, so be warned. Since this issue has nothing to do with the actual game I will not detract a star and will stand beside my 5 star review. But AMAZON & the SELLER should do better !!

BEST SOLO STEALH GAME EVER!
This was an AMAZING game! Fell in love with it! If you love solo stealth skill games you will love this. Amazing theme and graphics. Thought they should have included a much larger vocabulary with the characters but it was more than enough and I'm not complaining. Thought his female character partner was really weird and psycho OCD. I don't understand why they would paint her like that in the game. But all in all an amazing play. I really, really wish they would work on a sequel!

Garrett is back with a vengeance!
I love Thief and all it's darkness both in character and story. I suggest you play Thief as it was designed to appreciate the in depth effort in this detailed world of Thief. Patience is the norm and learning the controls once mastered improves game play greatly. Darkness and stealth is your Allie. Light and head to head is your demise.Remember you are a Thief! Use your skills to your advantage! Thief is a climbing, jumping, pickpocket, lock picking and knockout character. Using your bow is frequent. Arrows for extinguishing light, choking adversaries, knocking people out, setting fires, launching rope climbs, distractions, explosions, or killing. Choose Focus (abilities with mechanical eye to see key items) skills wisely to give you abilities to take advantage of your environment. Ie. locate treasure more easily. This world is vast and rich with treasure. The storyline is intriguing and there are many side jobs to play. The saving system is very limited to current event until completed the you can either replay or more to a location previously played to replay. (Note: the replay is a way to improve your Thief techniques and wealth). also Thief has a grading system pie chart score to evaluate your skills of; Ghost (undetectable), Opportunist (adjusts to situation) or Predator (no mercy). There is much to Thief and I love this game!

Disappointing
I'm less than impressed. The old PC version of Thief is much better, if that says anything. The graphics are good (not great), but the main problem here is a lack of depth. You get to prowl around a city breaking into houses, but the neighborhoods are a bit like mazes, with too many places you can't get too, too many inoperative doors, windows, etc. It lacks realism. The NPC characters are boring, with repetitive speech patterns. The items you can still seem to mostly consist of hand mirrors, pens, etc. The combat system is pretty pointless, because if you're using it, you've stopped being a thief, and the missions then just become pretty standard fare; attacking enemies, moving to the next area, attacking more enemies, etc. The only real entertainment here is trying to remain undetected, but there aren't enough ways to do that. You can sneak, manipulate the environment in pretty predictable ways, or incapacitate people. Sometimes there are alternative paths, but these seem too artificial, like you're being led there, like a rope is tied around you and you're just being pulled from place to place. The story didn't interest me much, especially as it involves you becoming superhuman in a way -- you're no longer just an incredibly talented cat burglar; in this version, you have super powers. I, for one, didn't want that. Part of the charm of the old game was outwitting people, which is not as fun if you've got such a big leg up. I found myself just playing through the missions to get to the end, and yawning through the cut scenes. A better idea would have made you the female thief, I think. When she was still human.Money is a big problem here. You steal mostly trifles, the proceeds of which must then be spent pretty much immediately on arrows or upgrades. A better idea would have been a barter system, haggling over the price of your goods, and a vast array of things for you to buy: better gloves, boots, masks, jewelry, etc.In the end, I played this game for about two weeks before finishing it, setting it aside, and thinking of it little since.
