Midway Arcade Classics #08 Classic Arcade Joust

Really fun game. It's virtually a perfect copy of the arcade classic. The gameplay is simple so it's great for anyone to play. There's a hidden bonus here, though. Apparently the circuit board also contains the ROM for DEFENDER!! I see a lot of companies do this to be more efficient. You can place all the games you need on one board, and then activate the desired one with the appropriate solder or connection. It's more cost efficient than making multiple different boards. This technique is actually applied to many gaming systems too such as GBA or PSP. If you want to know how to get the DEFENDER option to work, there are a few youtube videos that will help you accomplish this. So you get two great games in one package. Highly recommended for video game connoisseurs.

I bought it for my husband, who constantly played the arcade game as a teen and I was seriously worried it was not going to be a good version. It is. He loves it.

Great game, nice retro styling and plays great! On a positive - it does run nicely and the game is very cool. Looks good alongside the other arcade toys I have. I would say if you want this particular toy - its great and well made - and I would recommend it to anybody who loves arcade gaming. The screen display is crisp, sound is nice and buttons feel good (for a toy)On a negative, it was listed on amazon as 'new'. When it arrived the box was dented and looked old. Upon opening, the toy had some scratches (screen), scuff marks and dents on the outside that did make me a little sad. I had expected to get something that had come off a store shelf and not something someone may have gotten as a gift, played with and then put back in the box.I'm giving it 3 stars for the game toy - its very cool - but I felt that the listing of 'new' was misleading given the state of the received product so have removed 2 from it.

Just powering it on brings back memories! Exact game sounds recreated in sweet detail. The graphics as not as perfect but it ia still a blast to play.

Full color graphics are way better than expected. Volume is loud so it's nice to be able to turn the sound off.

Actually this was all I could expect, given the price and the size. But for me this game has been enjoyable, and the graphics are easily identified for those familiar with the, AWESOME!... full size model.
