Fantastic results
Absolutely fantastic! I have dark hair with grey coming through and bleach on the end. My hair is transformed. I did leave this on for 2hrs wrapped up in a clear plastic bag and towel. ALL my greys are covered even the fly aways. It’s silky glossy just as it was when I was young. Easy to apply I’ve used another gloss and it was a nightmare dripping and staining. Easy to wash off. Didn’t make a mess of my shower and once blow dried I was absolutely in love with the silky gloss finish. Even colour even though I have bleach on the end. Gorgeous.

Lush
I've been growing out highlights and its just the ends of my hair left but I dont want to dye my hair as its has lots of different natural tones! This is great as makes all my hair look healthy and tonal and just makes my ends look like sunkissed/beachy and natural

Easy to apply gives a nice shine
I bought this because I have few grays and don’t want to dye my hair with traditional chemicals. It doesn’t cover them but sort of blends them and gives a nice shine. Very easy to apply as well. Still think it is a bit expensive for what it offers.

Abit overpriced for the results
It's ok , I wanted it to tone down some blonde highlights I've half grown out , they have turned them a warm caramel Blonde which is ok , wouldn't say there dark blonde but still looks better than did before, it's Abit expensive for the results I got .

I was very hesitant to buy this product due to the mixed reviews, but I decided to go for it and I’m so glad I did! First two pics are before and second are after. Shown in indirect and direct sunlight. My hair is naturally dark blonde and I used the strawberry gloss. I have the tiniest hit of red, but it can only be seen in direct sunlight. My goal was to intensify that hint of red and become a true strawberry blonde, and I was also open to being a true redhead. I almost went for the copper color, and I know that many of the bad reviews are with that color. If you have any shade of blonde or maybe even light brown hair and want somewhat subtle results, I’d recommend going with strawberry over copper. There are a few factors that I think contribute to a beautiful result with this product. 1. Virgin hair - my hypothesis for why some people experience patchy results is differing porosities of hair texture on the same head. I bleached my hair for many years, and I don’t think this product is ideal for that texture. I stopped about 4 years ago and have now fully grown out and cut off any color-treated hair. 2. Ensuring an exfoliated scalp and fully clean hair - it seems like some folks were left with vivid roots and a dyed scalp. At least every other time I wash my hair, I use a scalp scrub before shampooing. I then use a clarifying shampoo focusing on the scalp and roots, rinse it out, and then a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo on both the roots and lengths of my hair. I only use the clarifying shampoo when I am about to apply a hair treatment. The other times I shampoo twice with the same gentle shampoo. Before I started using a scalp scrub, I didn’t think I had much product/oil build-up, but it has been an absolute game changer in my routine. But that’s a review for another day lol. 3. Be intentional and thorough with application - I personally wouldn’t recommend putting this product into your hair while you’re still in the shower like you would with conditioner like some other reviewers have said. I do scalp scrub, double shampoo, and then the rest of my shower routine. After I get out and dry off, I squeeze excess water out of my hair by scrunching with a cotton turban, but a t-shirt would be just as good. I then section my hair into quadrants and make sure I thoroughly saturate each section and comb through it with a wide-toothed comb before moving on to the next section. I use gloves for this step. Once I’m done, I comb it all out again to ensure every strand is coated evenly. Then I put my hair up in a big claw clip. 4. Saturation time - the first time I used this product, I only left it in for about 10 minutes, maybe less, as I was terrified I would experience overly pigmented, patchy results. I am relieved that was not the case, but leaving the product in for that short of a time gave me very, very subtle results. The next few times I have extended the leave-in time to 15-30 minutes and have liked the result more the longer I leave it in before rinsing. 5. Rinsing - after the product has had time to sit, I get back in the shower and thoroughly rinse. I have not noticed the color coming out at all in the water like some have said. I have only used the strawberry gloss, so that may be a factor, but I also think rinsing with cool/cold water helps. I don’t add conditioner after rinsing out the gloss, but I do put in the leave-in conditioner I always use after a wash and then style as usual. I know this was very long-winded, but I hope someone finds it helpful, whether you are considering buying this product or already bought it and were disappointed with your results. I have applied this 3, maybe 4, times now and have only used about a third of the bottle. For context, my hair goes past my shoulders and is slightly thicker than average. I use about 3 pumps per section of hair. I wash my hair every 5 days, so I get about a month of noticeable color per application. I will definitely keep using this product for the foreseeable future. Wishing you wonderful results!

Fantastic coverage (on blonde highlights), great repair and shine. But the "light brown" doesn't look like in the photos and is quite red/copper (even in the bottle). Therefore, ordered medium brown as well. The bottle arrived only 80% filled and pump brown, obviously previously used by someone else! Was planning on going progressively darker, but returning the second order instead.

I wanted to share my experience for anyone who was as undecided as I was when I was searching for color glosses and color conditioners. I did a lot of looking at products and reviews and ended up choosing to to try: this product and Moroccanoil color conditioner. This was the winner hands down. Even though it says it does not cover gray, I was delighted to find that ti does actually sort of partly stain my very stubborn wiry gray so that it looks a little bit more like highlights. It darkened my very faded light brown hair (that had a little too much red) in a nice rich way. Just a deepening and enriching. But the best part that I really want to get across is how shiny and glossy this product makes your hair. Almost nothing that promises shine and gloss actually works on my hair. I have very fine, very dry, NOT shiny hair—alas. It always looks a bit fuzzy and the only thing that really usually gives it shine is LOTS of oil. I was amazed to find that this product actually did give my hair a little bit of sheen and a really nice soft shiny glossy feeling. I actually kept running my fingers through my hair. And it lasted a really long time (I don’t shampoo every day because my hair is so dry, and after a week it still had that slightly thicker, glossy feeling! I am a believer in this product. And I am so picky about hair products. I don’t love the smell, but I’m quite fragrance sensitive and it didn’t knock me over or make me feel sick so that was a plus. The smell faded after a day or so. Another bonus as it does not stain your hands even though it warns you that it might. (I used the medium brown). The Moroccan oil conditioner was a darker brown and it did stain my hands, it did darken my hair but it did not even touch the gray. Moreover, I was disappointed that it did not give my hair that shiny glossy smooth feeling at all. I’m glad I just bought a sample pack of that one. DPhue is not cheap but for the size of the bottle and how much I get out of it when you consider that one salon color or gloss is upwards of $80 or more, plus travel time, this is going to be my go-to product between colorings. And I think it will extend my time between coloring. I have a lot of gray at the part right now but I don’t even feel in a rush to get color because I have this product. Big thumbs up on this one!

I have type 3C medium density & medium thickness hair shaft, healthy overall due to washing with filtered water once a week & only use Aveda & Curlsmith shampoo & deep convictioning treatment and leave-in conditioner. Used the gloss in dark brown once after shampooing (hadn't washed for 4 days prior to application) as instructed & left on for the recommended 20 minutes. Rinsing was easy but did temporarily stain my bathtub and my scalp. My hair showed no conditioning or gloss effect in appearance and felt big as if due to hygral fatigue (swelling to the inner cortex). My hair felt brittle, dry, dull and just rough to the touch. Devastating outcome honestly as I'm trying to maintain hair health to grow it long. Application was on May 30, today is June 9 and my ends feel fried and my scalp has been irritated since colouring, maybe has to do with Propylene Glycol being the third highest ingredient in the product. It's know to cause damage to protein in skin and hair and that's why many manufacturers never add it these days especially to better quality products that appeal to those wanting safer more natural ingredients like Curlsmith and Aveda. I've used box color a few times in my 50 years and those have high lightner content and still never saw damage anywhere near what dpHue caused just from one single application. I think this product is 100% not suitable for anyone on a hair growth journey or anyone with high porousity hair or anyone who cares about maintaining the health and appearance and feel of healthy hair. I hope dpHue reviews these details to better improve their product and keep their clients safe.
