Nice BRIGHT penlights
I work in a hospital so I was tired of buying those cheap penlights and I saw these as a solution to my problem. The lights work great and I only use them sporadically a few times a shift so one charge lasts me 3-4 days. The only drawback is I wouldn’t recommend these to check a patient’s pupils because they are so bright.

Melted and ruptured the battery on both!
Left these in to charge one day, both of them got extremely hot and stopped functioning, and one leaked black liquid out of the cap! Turns out the little lithium batteries inside do not have ANY protection circuitry, and will gladly keep charging even after they're full. This is evidenced by the fact that you can overcharge them well past five volts, and the charging light will stay on even after unplugging. Dumb circuitry that doesn't understand the difference between voltage input and the battery voltage, indicating no protection diodes or a cut-off MOSFET.Extraordinarily dangerous product - do not buy.

Defective
Absolutely garbage! I used my first pen through two back to back clinical shifts, it died and recharged once but began shutting off a few seconds after I would turn it on. It would not recharge at all, only turning on if directly plugged in. So I went to use my second penlight and it would not work at all! Again, lit up when directly plugged in. I was super excited to have rechargeable lights and a backup and these utterly failed me. Being the overwhelmed nursing student with three young kids I failed to return them and just went back to my battery operated penlight. I did however vow to write a review for any other stressed out nursing student who is already broke, so here it is. Don’t waste your precious funds!

Outstanding customer service for a product I was not satisfied with.
I originally wrote the review below. I was very quickly contacted by customer service and was assured they were working to resolve the issues. They offered to refund my money and send a new product that would not only meet my needs but also address the issues I mention. I am very satisfied with the customer service and am looking forward to seeing if their new product is better that the one I initially received. Because of this contact I am changing my rating from one star to three.I am a retired Neurosurgical ICU nurse and i no longer need a professional penlight. I just want something to easily check my family's ears and throats. But this advertises itself as a nurses tool and it isn't. The light is very, very bright, so bright that it makes it difficult to see into ears and throats. I wouldn't suggest shining it into someone's eyes, it is too strong for that purpose. Yes, it was inexpensive, but like I said I wanted a small light for a simple use. Also one of the two of the lights I got did not work. I am not pleased with this product or my purchase.

One of them died after the first use (later started working after I smacked it)
One of the two pen lights died after the first use of maybe 1-2 minutes. After I put it on the charger it never worked again. The light does come on but it's so dim you can barely see it. The blue LED also flickers when it is charging. So far I haven't had any trouble with the other one. I would say that these look pretty sleek and the concentrated light beam is nice and bright. The on/off button is pretty stiff as well. I would have rated this higher had one of the two died right away. Good thing I really only needed one!EDIT: I smacked the one light that stopped working a few times and it started working again. Also the seller contacted me because of this review and offered to refund or replace the light. I declined as it is now working, and I appreciated the customer service. I'm changing this from a 1 to a 4 star.

... uncomfortable to patients but the softer light is absolutely perfect and apparently well made since I accidentally washed it ...
The LED white penlight in this package is a little bright for examining eyes and can be uncomfortable to patients but the softer light is absolutely perfect and apparently well made since I accidentally washed it and it still works just fine! I'll definitely purchase again if I end up losing them!

Do not shine directly in the eyes of a patient!
I am a veterinarian that was pleased to find a penlight that could be charged w/ a USB port. Unfortunately, this light is far too bright to safely use while evaluating the pupillary light reflex in small animals. This may be a great flashlight to keep in your purse or glove box of your car, but it is not appropriate to shine directly in the eyes of a patient and could actually be damaging to sensitive animals.
