Vari Electric Standing Desk 48x30 (Reclaimed Wood) 2019

This is the best desk I have ever owned. I also bought one for my college student- we love the ability to sit or stand and the digital adjustments are superior. Table is beautiful to boot!

From a functional standpoint, this desk delivers, and I'm very happy with it: - Very sturdy (very heavy!) - Smooth, quiet up/down - Easy assemblyCons: - The "Reclaimed Wood" laminate finish looks really nice... as long as you are admiring it from afar. Parts of it seem blurry when looking at it up close. Which is sad, because otherwise it's a nice finish that I prefer over black or white. - The desk arrived with a small defect on the back edge where the laminate had cracked and started to peel upwards. The shipping box didn't have any damage in that area, so I'm assuming the defect was there when the desk was packaged. If this defect was on the front edge of the desk, I would have been really bummed out. Regardless, it is disappointing, given the price of the desk. - The up/down control box is plastic, and it is attached with a plastic bracket. I'm a bit worried about the durability; seems like it wouldn't take much force to break it off. But no problems so far.

Loving this desk already. It is extremely heavy and well made. Even though the top is not real wood, it is very well done and LOOKS like real wood. I chose the rustic wood look and I love it.Everything went together smoothly, and the electric rise feature is silent--really you can't hear it when you raise and lower the desk. I purchased this to use in a separate studio in my home, for another way to do my video trainings and FB lives...looking forward to finishing my setup and doing my first video from here!Two things to be aware of:1. The desk will likely take two people to lift up into position--it's heavy!2. The desk ships in TWO separate boxes, one for the top, and one for the legs. Initially, I was stressing thinking the legs had fallen out of the box, which was slightly damaged on arrival. Excellent customer service by calling Vari directly revealed there would be a second box, which did arrive the next day.I'd suggest this aspect of delivery be prominently detailed in the Amazon ad.But super happy with this purchase!

Review 2 - Update - As I was completing the 48" desk construction, I quickly discovered the support bar for the legs was missing. I reached out Varidesk. I will give Varidesk 5-Stars for Customer Service. They were quick to contact me via Amazon and by phone to resolve the issue. Yet, I had to disassemble the 48" desk, and repack the desktop. FedEx will be here in the morning to retrieve the desktop and I'm expecting a new 48" desktop (with crossbar) on Friday. As I noted, there were leg issues on the 60" stationary desk and Varidesk sent new legs, but again, one leg was not square on the weld by up to 1". As I've explained to Varidesk, that's two boxes of legs with a 50% defect rate and one desk top missing a crossbar. As they have been VERY responsive, I'm sticking it out. I used the one good leg in the new box and sending two bad legs back. Stay tuned.Review 1 - This is a preliminary review having just received and in process of assembly. We've ordered several Varidesk pieces; 60" stationary table, 48" electric desk, two cabinets and mobile chair. The components are weighty and appear sturdy, finishes are good and assembly fairly easy. That said, check the components. For this 48" desk, one of the legs is not square from back of desk to front, meaning the part of the leg against the wall angles over 1/2" by the time it reaches the front of the desk. Had this same issue with the 60" stationary desk, but that leg was tilted from desktop to floor by as much as 1". The issue the leg was not welded square to the mounting plate. Varidesk is sending new legs for that table.

While researching these standing desks I stumbled across a variety of options...with massively varying price points. This desk is absolutely amazing. It is very sturdy and has plenty of space to spread out my computer and books and journals.The memory settings are very nice. I set a height for my children, one for myself and one for my wife. It also comes with a sit memory option. This is extremely convenient.I had an issue with my ordering. Long story short I accidentally ordered two of these desks. WHOOPS! They had already sent out both desks, but the customer service agent worked quickly and took control. She had mine delivered and the second one was redirected back to their warehouse. A quick refund ensued.Great product and great company. Highly Recommend.

Has taken me a long time to bust down and spend this kind of money on a desk but I finally did and I could not be happier. I suffer from back pain and have to sit and stand several times when working at my desk and this desk makes life so much easier. Putting it together in 5 min is no lie. I put it together in about 15min because I don't have a perfect body and physically slow. However if you are pain free and free of disabilities this can be put together in 5 min. It is a heavy desk and you may want some help moving it into place or flipping it over as you have to assemble it as it is up side down. Simple to operate once all set up. I love this desk and may buy a larger one down the road.

I received my desk and assembled it in a matter of minutes. The corner of the desktop actually had a chip in it, but I contacted customer service and they quickly sent me a new tabletop and let me continue using the damaged one until I had the time to replace it. Even taking it apart to replace the top only took a few minutes. Great desk and great customer service! I frequently move it from the up to down position throughout the day, which is quiet enough to do while I'm on a conference calls (and on video).
