Picture an old man trying to lift a 5 gallon jug above his head; yeah not so fun! I got this pump to save my back from lifting jugs up on top of the cooler! We were filling glass jugs and putting the glass jugs into the fridge anyway so I bought a galley sink faucet and ran the line from the basement up to the kitchen sink and blammo, purified water on tap and at a fraction of the cost. No more making runs to the basement to fill the glass jugs! The pump is a bit noisy even with the rubber mounts, maybe mount it to something that isn’t part of the homes structure?

TLDR: Use filtered water or be prepared to clean it once a year. We have had our pump for just over a year. We FREQUENTLY comment on how wonderful it is. We use it with 2 jugs in the back shop on our garage fridge. Our new fridge sucks at making enough ice for our family, but our garage fridge was/is a workhorse at making ice. We love in the desert and go through a ton of ice. A couple of months ago it started acting like it was getting air in the line. I made sure everything was sealed, but still it would 'get air in the line'. The ice was hollow and the pump would run all the time. I couldn't get it to flow properly at all. I turned it off and we lamented we'd have to start buying bags of ice. Today I decided to take another look at it. When I pulled the parts out of the jugs I noticed calcium scale on the pipes. I filled a 5 gallon bucket 3/4 full of water and poured approximately 1/4 gal of muriatic acid in. I put both pump pipes in the bucket and ran the return hose back into the bucket. I turned the pump on and it sputtered at first. So much white tinted the water and then the stream of the pump return stopped sputtering and ran clear and strong. I only ran it for a couple of minutes. I emptied and rinsed the bucket and ran the pump with clean water for 20 minutes. I primed it and hooked it back up to the fridge. It is running as if it were brand new. We're beyond thrilled! Yay! Yay! Yay! Back to unlimited ice on hand!

If you can’t use the icemaker/water dispenser in your refrigerator because you don’t have a water line to hook it up to, THIS IS THE SOLUTION!! Super simple to install, works like a dream, comes with everything you need but the bottle of water.

Installed and works well. It is a little loud, but tolerable. Water is taken evenly from both bottles, which will make changing easier as they should empty at the same time.

All things considered, so far its great. Have had an ice maker/water dispenser fridge for years. Having a well, we've just learned to live with it. For $70 im asking myself why I didn't do something sooner. If you are getting bottled water, and have the fridge freezer, its actually pretty easy, and the pump is plenty quiet. Its actually a nice little unit. Too k the time to decide where it was going to be set up Got the two bottle option. Did the bleach rinse. Hooked up a couple water lines and it hasn't missed a lick. Already saving $$ and typically getting Primo water. The cubes aren't clumping together. Definitely an issue trying to buy bag ice and get it home and frozen without the perpetual block that needs broken up. When I first saw an ad they wanted like $150. So1/2 the price. You won't regret it. Set it up so its a simple routine and enjoy@
