I’d give it 10 STARS!!!
Zojirushi is an excellent brand and gold standard for thermal flasks and carafes. Made in Japan. Keeps hot water piping hot for hours. So convenient to always have hot water on hand for tea. No smell or weird taste. Love the functionality. Simple and clean design. Simply twist the lid to open or close to pour. The red color is very pretty. Says it’s made of “medical grade equivalent borosilicate glass”. It’s become an essential everyday item. Also highly recommend the Zojirushi flasks. I’ve been using the same one for over 10 years. They are amazing.

My wife's new favorite thing
My OH is using this for keeping tea hot throughout the work day. She proclaimed it to be her new favorite thing. So, that's pretty good, right?Good, solid, classic design. Glass vacuum bottle inside and a clean functional design on the outside. Does the job very nicely and looks good doing it. Zojirushi made a good product here and then priced it right. Can't think of anything negative to say. Two thumbs up.

This carafe is AMAZING.
I boiled water for tea on Sunday night, filled my cup, and placed the remaining water into the Zojirushi carafe. I forgot to empty it when I was finished. It is now Thursday morning, and the water was still warm when I dumped it to clean and refill.Buy this carafe!!

Zojirushi is a great Japanese hot water brand
I purchased this in 2021 and it's lasted me up until just now, when the plastic inside has had enough and has begun leaving black residue in my water and scraping away infinitely. It was good while it lasted - keep in mind I didn't use it during spring and summer really, but it's usually seen consistent daily use throughout fall and winter. It keeps water at close to scalding temperature for 12 hours, and then it's at a very drinkable hot for another 12 hours, and then it's warm for the next 12. I love pouring water in it and bringing it to my room without worrying about burning myself. The most annoying thing is that the plastic on the cap makes squeaky noises after some time because of the plastic against the hot water. Also, as some people have mentioned, the plastic is just not a good material to have with hot water, so it starts rubbing off. However, if you're careful about it (like trying to minimize contact between the two), it can last for a couple years. This would be perfect if the plastic top wasn't just cheap plastic, but it does work if you take care of it, and it was an amazing value.

Not a lot of choices with glass
Nice carafe. A bit tight on cleaning the glass but otherwise it does what it is supposed to. Two criticisms: 1. To close it up after pouring you really have to turn it hard, which my wife is unable to do. You can leave it snug, but not fully shut, but that tends to have the coffee cool a little faster. 2. I wish it had a button or lever to release the coffee. It really isn't a big deal to turn the dial/top half way in order to pour; it's just me being picky.

Perfect match with RSVP Pour-over coffee dripper
I purchased this 1.6 liter carafe to replace/upgrade from a Krups 1 litre carafe which I've used for years, and which still works perfectly. I like the extra capacity and how it works better with my RSVP coffee dripper. The round "base" of the funnel fits down just past the threads of the carafe to stand securely while I pour hot water over the grounds. There is simply no way for the dripper to fall off even if bumped, unless the whole carafe were to fall over. The hole in the top is just a little larger than the spout on the dripper, so not easy to get a brush down inside. Instead, I rinse it out with hot water after it's empty, and let it stand overnight with hot water, so it's pre-warmed for fresh coffee every day. It keeps coffee hot until late in the afternoon.

Glass liner means no metallic taste
The carafe keeps tea hot for a looooong time; and because it uses glass liner, it doesn't impart metallic taste on the tea. However, I wish Zojirushi uses a better lid (the push down lid in their other line) for this item. The turn lid is a bit of a hassle when i need to open the carafe frequently. Also, this carafe makes a hissing sound, which at first I thought to be a bat nesting in my wall. I am fond of it, though, now. I named my Zojirushi "Alistair the Dragon".

Why pay this much a product made in 80s?
Very plastic design and so so quality.Don't get me wrong, I'm big fun of Zojirushi and I have a lot of their small home appliances, so I bought this one without thinking, but very disappointed. This will be a buy for $10-$15.If you looking for Thermal Serve Carafe with Japanese brand, I recommend the Tiger brand, similar brand better quality and feature, I bought 3 of them.
