I bought this and every time I use it on the patio, I get a really bad sore throat. What chemicals are in this and why is this happening?

Thermacell is safe to use around people and pets when used as directed. This is something we have not heard of, please contact Thermacell directly for more information. The mat (repellancy) product contains the active ingredients d-allethrin or prallethrin.
