Maui Blue - ADJUSTABLE CAT SAFETY COLLAR - BREAKAWAY

My new longhaired cat got neck sores from standard collars, but I wanted him to wear tags, just in case, so I looked for an alternative to the usual design. I was skeptical about paying what seemed like a lot for a length of nylon cord, but this collar is well-designed, lightweight, adjustable, with a breakaway safety feature, and has a ring large enough to attach my kitty's license and his tag (it says, "Indoor-only cat...if I'm out, I'm lost"...thanks, Amazon!). Even with the weight from the tags, no neck sores or scatching. If your cat doesn't do well with ordinary collars, this is worth a try. My cat was fine with it right from the start. Even after a week with no collar, he didn't mind it at all. Note...slides on, then slides to adjust. No buckle...and don't use the safety breakaway clip to open and close the collar.

I have tried so many collars for my big male cats. They always scratch and shred the nylon ones, the leather ones wear their fur away and sometimes leave sores, and one of my cats won't wear one at all if he can feel it on his neck. I decided to try this collar on the advice of a friend. I was so surprised! My cats don't even know they're wearing it! It looks nice (it's so narrow that sometimes you can't even see it in their fur) and it's sturdy. Two of my cats have had them for over a year and they look like brand new. I just bought one for a third cat and she doesn't even notice it! The breakaway feature works well. She snagged it on a piece of furniture and it came right off. I simply picked it up and put it right back on. Kudos to the manufacturer for making an excellent and attractive product!

I bought this collar as my sister’s cats have each been wearing them for over seven years. Harley barely noticed it once I got it around his neck. If he finds it comfortable, then he is good to go for everything else!!

This order of collars probabley marks my tenth order of these collars. I first purchased them 4 years ago for my outside cats. They lost a few over the years. I would rather have a lost collar than a choked cat. I have since ordered them as gifts for any friends with cats. If I had the $$$ I would give them to anyone I saw with a cat. They have even improved upon the design since I first purchased them. If I could I would give this 10 stars!!!! The other great thing is if you have a long haired cat. the hair will not get matted or tangled in or under the collar.

I had to remove my cat's collar as his fur underneath had disappeared. My vet had treated him in the past by sending me to an allergy specialist.My cat used to scratch himself bloody. I spent $300+, changed his food numerous times and had no GOOD results.While searching for a collar, I'd read a customer review on this one.It told of their cat and its allergic reactions to other collars, with the same symptoms as my cat.I ordered it and, lo and behold, my cat is now allergy free. It was the popular collars that had affected him!!!This one is thin, round and comfortable...buy it!

I bought one of these collars for one of my cats because it looked soft and I wanted something small and lightweight. It was prefect! So I bought another one for one of my other cats and I love it too! I like the breakaway feature, it seems well thought out and nicely constructed.

Did not stretch or easily adjust. I CUT UP and threw away three that I had bought. My cat wore under close supervision and almost hung himself. I worry that other cats are wearing something like this especially home alone.

First, I got these for two young cats, around 5 months old. Both are TOO LARGE for both cats on the smallest possible setting. These are pretty normal size Russian blues (normal for 5 month old). Second, it seems to be a major problem that so much of the collar is a straight 'stick' rather than a flexible curved textile. Thus, the two plastic ends that join to hold it together are each straight sticks about half an inch long. Together, this is an inch or more of a straight line that does NOT curve to follow the curve of your neck. Next, the collar includes two half-inch long metal "sticks" that are the ends you slide to adjust the size. So out of maybe 6 inches around, you have may be 2 inches of that which is plastic and/or metal straight "sticks" rather than the flexible material you'd expect from a collar. See the picture and you'll see what I mean. This is not shaped in anywhere close to what you'd want to go in a CIRCLE around the neck. Instead, it is like a little over a half-circle then a bar. Poor design, and they should warn it is only for LARGE cat necks.
