Really lovely neat and stylish set for a Christmas gift

Very nice backgammon travel set of good quality. Easy to bring with and not heavy at all. Only thing to be careful about is that the play pieces are a bit small, and could easily get lost if dropped.

Great, stylish set.

It is a fact of life that a surprise - a good one - is a thing of joy. And here it is…. I’m not going to review backgammon, obviously, but I will tell you that the high quality and thoughtful construction of this travel set instantly made me want to play more backgammon! As a family, we travel extensively, and having a game to play, or activity to occupy those quiet moments is essential. I’m looking forward to our trip to Vienna in May even more now that I have this set to take with me! The case is soft to the touch and has two zipper handles to ensure proper closing of the unit. Both feel robust. Upon opening, the playfield is delightful; a flock, felt-like feel to it. Not only warm to the hand but practical as it has some resistance to stop the player counters moving easily. Talking of the player counters, these are lovely, with a marbled, glossy appearance and feel. They are recessed slightly on one side, so you always know which side to put down on the playfield. The dice are small, but in keeping with the petite nature of the set (iPhone 16 Pro Max in pics for scale).They work really well, though and have always managed to stay on the playfield, despite some vigorous tumbling in the nicely made cups. It is rare to find a travel set that I want to take with me, but that’s exactly what this will be doing. If you even remotely like the game, get one of these. You will not regret it. Totally, utterly recommended.

I love this travel backgammon set. It looks and feels like a quality set, with a soft smooth leather-like padded cover over the hard case. I like the green, black and cream colour scheme. The lining/board is cream velvety fabric, with green and black leather place markings stitched onto it. The playing playing peices are smooth hard pieces in black or cream with lustrous sheen and marbling effect. One side is smooth and the other has a small hollow, which can make it easier to handle. Each player has 2 dice, white or black, and their own dice shaker made of matching green leather as the place markings and the outer case, lined with the cream velvety fabric. There is a leaflet with rules in several languages, but the writing is tiny. Too small to read even when wearing my glasses, so I needed to photograph it on my phone to magnify it! When you open it, the zip handles can prevent the sides at the middle lying flat against each other, so teh board does not lie flat. I found that if you hold the handles up, and maybe not open the zips right to the end, but just to inside the middle join, the board lies flat perfectly. The middle bench across the join at the middle sides is also lined with the velvety fabric, and works well for storing prices that need to return to the board. This beautiful travel backgammon set feels lovely to play with and we've had some fun games with it.

I learned Backgammon from a Turkish friend at University over 20 year ago and I have a wooden set bought in Istanbul which always comes out around holiday times and some rainy days too. It's a quite relaxing game to play together with someone over a cup of coffee or wine so it's nice to have a good quality board and pieces to give an air of sophistication to the experience. This set from Lingle is really nice, with a good quality leather case and board and the small "pearl pattern" pieces add to the premium look and feel. I have the green coloured board and at first I was worried that the dark pieces would not be easily visible against the dark coloured "points" (the thin triangles) on the board, but as you can see from the attached photos this is not a problem under any reasonable lighting as the pearl pattern is quite reflective and easy to see. The smooth pieces all slide easily along the board and over the points, you don't need to lift them from the board to move them (and don't have to worry about scratching the board). The dice tumble nicely across the board too so you won't be constantly picking them up from the floor like you have to when throwing dice on a small table. The case opens and closes pretty easily with good quality smooth golden zips, although I did find that I needed to slightly pull the zips away from the hinges when the board was open to get it to lie completely flat. Four dice, a doubling dice and two leather tumblers are included and there is a short removable carry strap for the case. I think any Backgammon player would be happy playing on this board and it would certainly make a lovely gift for any friends or family members who play. There are alternative colour schemes available in orange and grey but I am very happy with this green colour themed set.

We used this in a weekend trip to the Lake District with friends, and it turned out to be the highlight of our evenings! The leather folding case feels premium and well-made – it genuinely looks and feels like a luxury edition. It fits easily in a backpack or tote, and the portable handle makes it feel more like a stylish clutch than a board game. I really like this design and the case, compared to standard wood or plastic board game boxes. The game itself? Classic and engaging. We ended up playing for hours at night. The faux horn playing chips have a great weight to them, and the board design is sleek and modern. It even includes 5 dice and a doubling cube, which most compact sets don’t bother with. The magnetic clasp and metal zipper are perfect for keeping everything together. Overall, this is a thoughtful gift, a great travel game, and a beautiful item to keep on display at home. This has been added to my game collection, and this box stands out from the rest. Highly recommend!

This is a well made, beautiful backgammon set. I already have a larger, full size backgammon set that I got many years ago. I wanted a smaller set that's easier to carry when my husband and I go to the bookstore for coffee or when we're traveling. The quality and workmanship of this backgammon set is better than I could have imagined. Yes, the pieces are very small but that's because it's a "traveling/to go" set. This backgammon set is definitely a good value and worth the money I spent. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

I really love this travel set. Easy to use, looks great, and feels like a high quality set. The pieces look nice, the middle portion opens flat, the interior is stitched and smooth. The only thing I don't love is the feel of the faux suede on the dice roller, but I would still highly recommend this travel set as it is far superior to any other travel set I've purchased or tried.
