Boss Pet Q2515 000 99 10' Large Dog Snap Around Pdq Tie-Out

I was looking for something like this but I didn't know exactly what I wanted, so when I found this I had a few questions. They don't really give you a wealth of information on this thing... I know it's “a 10' Large Dog Snap Around Pdq Tie-Out” and that it's 2 cables and it holds a 60-pound dog, but under “Product Details,” it says “Dimensions 7 x 2 x 10 inches”. What does THAT mean? So I asked a few questions and got the obligatory “I don't know”s and “I haven't used mine yet” and a couple of useful ones that helped me make the decision to go ahead and buy it, but not the exact info I wanted. So here's the real skinny on this item:There are two vinyl coated galvanized steel cables, one red and one blue, just as you see in the ad. They both have a sturdy swivel attachment on one end and a small loop on the other end (see photo). Other than the color, there are only two differences in the cables. The first is the length, one is 10 feet long, and the other is 8 feet long, and the second is that the blue cable has a sturdy chrome ring in the loop on the end. I assume the ring is to attach to the red line that's around the tree, as the dog will be on the swivel.The red cable will fit a tree as big as 30 inches in diameter (94” in circumference) so that's pretty much any tree unless you live in a redwood forest. So that means the smaller the tree you use, the longer the lead will actually be so that ten-foot length might be more like eleven or twelve.As for the 60 lb capacity, I'd say that's underrated. I have a 120 lb Great Dane and there's no way she could break it. All in all, it seems to be good quality and a pretty good buy.

Thought this was exactly what we were looking for and perhaps it was. However, didn't expect that the cable would break in such a short time.

Um so I literally received this a few hours ago and it has already broke. I put the blue loop around the red one after my “35lb” (as confirmed by the vet a couple of months ago ) broke free of the metal ring that was supposed to be strong enough for up to 60lbs… he was under observation and nothing was out of reach for him to rush toward it but he broke free

Exactly what we needed. Wasn't sure it was the 2 loop system but we've always used these for our GSDs and they never tangle and allow them to be nearby at vacation spots without being in everyone's face.

Works great for my lab. Easy to use.

My dog goes nuts when I sit outside so I wanted her to be able to join me for my morning coffee. We don’t have a fence and she would run off at the sight of a squirrel. This product does what I need but I didn’t realize it said 10’ which is way too short. I would recommend getting a longer cord as she can barely walk around anywhere
