Works as front camera for slow speeds
I installed the camera on the front license plate of my 4wd truck. The intention was to use it for viewing obstacles that are hard to see in front of the vehicle due to the high hood line. I used the license plate fasteners to mount the camera. For testing I used battery clamps to connect the camera power to the battery terminals temporarily. I found thru measurement the camera draws about 150 mA with the LEDs on and about 50 mA with the LEDs off. I will probably connect the camera power to the front Fog lamps for a more permanent install. The camera easily paired with the monitor. I then needed to set the monitor to the non-mirrored view (for front viewing). The image was clear and color good when the vehicle was not moving. I put some lines on the ground with survey tape that were the same width apart as my wheels. Then I adjusted the rear view guide lines to line up with the width of the lines on the ground. This way I can see the track my wheels are taking below the hood line. I then tested the camera while moving. There is a noticeable delay in the image. There is also some sort of artifact on the moving image. Perhaps there is some video compression used to send the image over the wireless. At any rate the camera would not be acceptable to record video while moving at anything but slow speed, roughly like you would be traveling for a backup camera. At low speed like I will be using when negotiating obstacles when off road, the delay should be acceptable, especially since it allows viewing things that are below the hood line. Also when negotiating obstacles one can usually stop and view the image to consider what line to take to negotiate the obstacle. If you want a camera with little delay, then I would say one of the cameras that is hard wired and uses old style NTSC video at standard definition might be better when moving at road speed. You would have to make sure it had the ability to be set up as non-mirrored image. Bottom line, is it works. It is acceptable for front or rear use at low speeds. The image is great when stopped. You can't cover the windshield and drive at road speed using the front view because of the processing delay. The limitations are balanced by the ease of installation.

Excellent Backup Camera – Easy to Install and Super Clear!
I bought this backup camera for my older car that didn’t come with one, and I’m seriously impressed. The installation was easier than expected — the instructions were clear, and all the parts were included. It took me about an hour to get everything wired up, and it powered on without a hitch. The picture quality is surprisingly good, even at night. The wide-angle lens gives me a full view of what’s behind, and the built-in guidelines make parking a breeze. I feel much safer now when reversing, especially in tight spaces or crowded lots. The screen is bright and responsive, and there’s almost no lag between movement and what you see. For the price, this device has exceeded my expectations in both quality and performance. If you’re looking to upgrade your car with a reliable backup cam, this one’s a great choice.

Easy to install, clear picture
I really went back and forth on which backup camera to buy for my 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I am very happy with my choice after over a month of using it. I was skeptical of wireless, but it went with it because it was easier to install. The monitor us mounted to my windshield with the suction cup, the wire is shoved into a dashboard crevice and plugs into 12v outlet. The camera is mounted to my rear wheel with zip ties, which is not exactly professional, but since Jeep license plates aren't centered, there aren't a lot of other options. I did look at some fancy (expensive) mounting brackets, but the zip ties are find for now. I drilled into the side of the brake light to run a wire to the reverse light wire. There are others to wire it, but again, this was easy and practical. There is a lag on the monitor due to it being wireless. It takes a beat to turn on, and the image is a second or so behind real-time, so you have to keep that in mind. I am very happy with this purchase, especially for the price.

Camera stopped working. Everything is enclosed and weather proof and setup correctly. Worked great while it lasted for roughly 2 months

Great And Reliable Product But it Has a Couple of Minor Issues
This camera is easy to install and worked pretty much right out of the box. It comes with everything you need to install it, with the exception of a drill and a bit to open a hole in the rear of the car to pass through the camera's video cable and antenna. The video signal is clear, stable, reliable and has good resolution. The only minor issues are that it takes about three seconds for the image to show up on the screen once you put the car is reverse, and that there is a video lag of about one second. In other words, the image you see on the screen is about one second old, so you still need to be careful when you reverse and do it slowly.
