First a warning - do not ignore the instructions about wearing gloves while assembling these wicks. There's nothing in the package to tell you that. Just in the product description on Amazon. Well, I forgot about that, didn't wear gloves and ended up with some fiberglass on my fingers. It washed off with some detergent, but it's better not to get those fiberglass shards into your skin at all. My bad.As for the kits themselves they are great. They look good and work perfectly. Just remember that glass breaks and don't place these where they can get knocked over or broken. A pint of flaming fuel can ruin your day.

I initially was looking to get some electric Cafe lights to string on my deck. After looking at several options I discovered that the price was just much more than I really wanted to spend. I decided that I would go with more of a tiki torch look, but didn't want to necessarily have long, tall tiki torches surrounding my deck area. I really like the country look of the ball jars, and have decorated with them in my house frequently. When I saw this kit, I decided it was exactly what I was looking for! I followed the instructions and used several ball jars that I had in my attic. They turned out far better than I could ever have expected! They offer just the right amount of light and provide an ambiance that is warm, welcoming, and intimate. I am so very glad I decided to go this direction and use this torch kit! I highly recommend it!

I have tried only filling them 1/2 way, having the wicks just long enough to light, having the wicks out 1/2 inch, no matter what I do the top of the lid burns. I have let them burn thinking there was a film that needed to burn off, this has not worked. The way the flame burns over the top of the lid is not safe, it is too big of a flame so it is a fire hazard. I worry that the lid will burn thru and then the oil with catch fire.I have other torches that work great, they just cost a lot more but at least they are safe.

I did not receive any jars with this order, even though it says they are included. I forgot they were included, so I used jars I have. I dkn't know if it's the fiberglass wicks, but they burn through nearly all the fuel in about 3 hours. I'm using Tiki torch oil. Other lanterns I burn the same fuel in don't burn off nearly as fast--last nearlyba week or more. These wicks are like hoses the way they soak up the fuel. I am very disappointed. I would return them if I hadn't used them already.

These are terrific. I grew up in a household of canners. They can be used inside and out depending on the fuel you use. They were easy to assemble and really pretty. I did notice that the chain holding the caps didn't stay secure on one of the jars, but the others were fine. I purchased these as gifts and I am very pleased with them, as are the people I gave them to. I would ask for a little more secure chain, but everything else was perfect. Thank you.

The first time I used this it seemed great .. but when I went to refill the jar - the gasket had gotten bigger and was difficult to replace .. both jars I used did this. Plus the wick included may be the source of smoke and order - this is my first time with an indoor firepit and I am very displeased ..

Great product. I mounted the Mason jars to the railing on the porch with hose clamps. Works great

I love the look of these in mason jars.... I had some green jars on hand and they look beautiful.....I use the out back by the swimming pool...on the deck the bugs are really bad this time of year..... we use the citronella lamp oil in ours....It really keeps the bugs away and look great...
