In the Dasht-E-Margoh desert in remote Afghanistan, inside a Taliban camp, an ISI official, Col. Huzefa (Shahbaz Khan), is interrogating a captured man (Saif Ali Khan) suspected to be a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), agent. The man offers up details about RAW's operations in Afghanistan in exchange for money and safe passage across the border. He betrays his colleague, Major Rajan (Ravi Kissen), who has also infiltrated the camp. This is only a ruse, as both overpower their captors and fight their way out of the camp. Along the way, they rescue a girl called Farah (Maryam Zakaria). The man is actually a RAW agent and his nom-de-guerre is Agent Vinod.

Fast-paced, action thriller.
This is quite a good and highly enjoyable action film made in the same vein as the Daniel Craig, James Bond films - it is easily their equal. The story involves a terrorist group gaining control of a suitcase-sized nuclear bomb which they plan to explode in a strategic location for the purpose of starting a nuclear war between two unfriendly nations. Agent Vinod engages in a relentless (and ruthless) pursuit of the villains to avert this potential nuclear cataclysm. The plot is reasonable; the characters are believable; and there is seldom a lull in the action. If you like fast-moving action films, don't miss this one!

bad movie
this movie was awful. the action scenes were not related and at times used for shock value only. this is a below average bollywood movie. spare yourself the pain

Live action flic
Rated the film this low because sub-titles are behind film sequences, making it hard to follow. Otherwise would be a great thriller!

Saw it at ground zero
Oh yeah, the can't remember the name cinema in Mumbai. 1300 passionate Bollywood fans leaning into each absurdityOnly got to see part of it as Agent Vinod was only part of a total immersion in the nighttime culture of Mumbai . Did pass on a Teacher's scotch freebie somewhere along the way. The alternative of hanging out with the bus drivers where they text & smoke along a dimly lit street seemed a preferable alternative. ( gotta remember petty street crime is unknown inIndia ) Upon returning home I was no doubt among the first to order a copy, from Amazon, when Agent Vinod was FINALLY available for worldwide release. Gotta be honest, still haven't watched the whole thing. I can report it involves stolen nuclear weapons , a desert outpost location , scantily clad hotties, lots of withering machine gun fire, plot appropriate explosions all heavily involving , Agent Vinod , whom in the part I did watch looked a lot like Sadam in desert gear. Hopefully someone here can add to this unfortunately incomplete review of what I'm thinking is surely another Bollywood masterpiece.

Entertaining action with a sense of humor
I first saw this on a plane flight from the US to the UK, didn't remember the name, eventually found it on DVD took some serious searching, great fun. Lots of action and twists. A quick look at the other reviewers seems to lead to the conclusion that fans of Hollywood like it, fans of Bollywood, not so much.
