You can keep using it. Put the cap on tight when done. I have used it for years. Dries clear.
Best all around glue to have.

Quality, flexible, and believably durable glue
I've been using goop for over a decade and it is fabulous when you need flexibility and water resistance. It shrinks as it dries so sometimes it's best to put it on in layers. I imagine it would compare to Spiderman web material.

Great product that I've bought repeatedly for over 10 years.
Great versatile glue. Dry time is minimum 12 hours to fully harden and 48 hours before the smell of the fumes is not noticable. I haven't noticed much difference between this version and their automotive version, maybe oil resistance? I glued a plastic window vent visor to my pickup truck with this stuff and it has stayed put for nearly 10 years. It has been exposed to sub zero and high temps above 100' F and never let go. There was a slight yellowing to the exposed area of glue, though this did not affect the bond. I use it to glue patches to my work pants and they've held up through dozens of wash and dry cycles (use the permanent press dryer setting though). This glue dries to a hard and rubbery consistentcy that will stretch before it lets go. It is very waterproof and works as a caulk in a pinch(it is a little thin and oozes a bit as it dries). It won't hold a patch to a tire tube, I've tried, so keep the rubber cement for that. And don't throw away your super glue, you'll need it for hard plastics and porcelains as GOOP is too flexible for them.

Strong
You wouldn't believe the amount of things I have successfully stuck with my Goop. If something falls down or off from wherever, the cal goes, "Where's the Goop?"

Sticks like crazy to just about everything -- especially fingers!
This stuff sticks to darn near everything. Unfortunately, that includes fingers, whether it's your natural skin or latex-gloved fingers. I like it, though, because it's one of the strongest choices in household adhesives on the market. This Amazing Goop dries clear (although there are some versions of it that aren't) and it remains waterproof, flexible, and temperature resistant. Once it's cured, it can be painted over. While I usually prefer the E-6000 made by this same company, there are some purposes that I find this Amazing Goop to be a better choice. Both adhesives are sticky and a bit smelly, but Amazing Goop is a bit thicker than E-6000. So for certain projects such as adhering a somewhat heavy material to a vertical surface without shifting or sliding down, the thicker consistency of the Amazing Goop helps the object to grab and hold better than the thinner consistency E-6000.Amazon doesn't allow websites to be included in reviews, but if you type "thistothat" in your google search bar, you'll find an excellent site that offers easy help in deciding which type of adhesive to use for a project. This Amazing Goop or the E-6000 are frequent suggestions that come up especially when you're gluing together materials like glass, metal, plastic, and tile. The biggest downside to this adhesive (as well as the E-6000) is how messy it is. Once the cap is off, it often wants to continue extruding adhesive even when you're not squeezing the tube. It also "surface dries" quickly, so you can't leave the cap off or put a small puddle of adhesive out to use from with smaller tools. But the worst part if you're doing a project with extensive gluing? Fingers. I've tried wearing snug latex gloves, but this stuff really sticks to them and I find my fingers glued together or stuck to the Goop tube. Bare fingers seem to work better for me, but then I'm peeling adhesive from my fingers hours later. And don't even bother wearing nail polish because the solvent in this adhesive takes it right off.So, bottom line, it works great at sticking and is easy enough to use for quick cap-off/cap-back-on gluing needs. Even though I dislike working with this adhesive for more prolonged gluing projects, it's still often the adhesive I choose because it seriously sticks difficult materials together.
