Hion Purple powder taste very delicious, it gives me energy , and to be honest I’m doing much better in the gym :)

I’ve only tried it for a week. It does appear to help with losing weight. Tastes pretty awful though and only dissolves in warm to hot water.

My father enjoys this so much tastes good and it is healthy for him!

I’m not sure about all these people that say this tastes good. I’ve tried at least 10 different drinks like this green, red, now purple. They all taste vegetabley which is fine. This taste like tree bark and dirty ashtray. It’s very gritty too.

My husband uses it in hopes to speed up metabolism and help him lose weight- and it's working! The only thing he isn't keen on is the taste, but eagerly ordered second box.

This contains mostly berry fruits and beetroot powder which gives the product a brownish/purple colour. Green powders are very ubiquitous and so the purple powder attracted my attention when I saw it in Holland and Barrett. Green powders are generally a good source of plant protein and a purple one, being full of berry fruits, is likely to be a good source of antioxidants and the beetroot powder provides blood pressure support. So I took a closer look at it on Amazon.If I had bought this in H & B I would only have bought either the green or the purple powder due to the price they were charging. However, upon seeing these on Amazon at £5 cheaper each, I decided to get both of them.The directions are: one heaped teaspoon added to a hot or cold drink or smoothie. My usual method is to add my powder to a bowl of natural yogurt and let it soak for about 10 – 15 minutes and then stir to get rid of any lumps. I add a little stevia and/or xylitol to sweeten the mixture. Then I add some chopped banana and some mixed seeds. This makes a light start to the day – I don’t believe in drinking my breakfast.I have compared this product with Lean Greens which costs £95.98/kg. This contains green powders, fruit powders, green tea and digestive enzymes but the major ingredient is maltodextrin – estimated to be about 80% of the content. Hion powders do not contain bulking agents. Lean Greens Health say the maltodextrin makes the product taste palatable and helps it to mix well. I try to avoid products containing maltodextrin because I am not sure whether it is a good ingredient for diabetics and I don’t usually make my green powders into a drink. Lean Greens describe their product as the ultimate vegetable hack. I don’t think so.Hion purple powder contains chlorogenic acid (from the green coffee) and polyphenols for weight management assistance and iodine for thyroid support. It also contains manganese, copper and B vitamins plus vitamins C and E. The vitamin B1 content is a bit low for diabetics as they lose thiamine rapidly. A benfotiamine supplement would be advisable. I would have liked to see some vitamin D3 but this is probably best taken with a supplement containing vitamin K2. At least they didn’t add vitamin D2 which I have seen in some of Holland and Barrett’s products.Overall I would say this is a very good product worthy of five stars. Trying to sources all the ingredients it contains by yourself would be a nightmare.

I purchased the purple powder after using the green powder by the same company and being a bit weighty and used to picking at rubbish food, I decided to give it a go. I started using it a week and a half ago and tried replacing the green powder with this to see what benefits I could feel. I struggled a tiny bit with the taste in the beginning but if you have it with juice and remember it's good for you, it's easy to drink down (remember to drink all the bits that are left in the bottom). It gives you a nice mellow energy and I have definitely had no desire to pick at food throughout the day when I have this. Due to missing the green powder too much I have changed my powder routine to a spoon of green in the morning and then I put a spoon of purple powder in my overnight oats which I take to work with me and have for my lunch. It tastes really good mixed in with the oats and fruit. I can't say if it helps with losing weight as I'm not on a strict diet and haven't been weighing myself. I just know that it makes me feel good and stops me craving sweet things. Very good product. Thanks
