Received broken laser
Ordered this part as my PS3 was reading DVD discs fine, but was having trouble reading blu-ray discs. Installed the laser, but when I tested it, it wouldn't read a thing - Bluray OR DVD, and none of the laser lights would light up. Reinstalled my old broken lens, and lights work and DVDs are reading (it tries to read bluray but does not succeed). Error lies in a defunt laser drive, as reinstall of previous lens worked.Would have given a 0 rating as the product doesn't even work, but 1 was the lowest I can go.

Works great, but you need special tools
Works great! Be warned the PS 3 has a couple of screws that need a special tool to remove them, a tool that I don't have and didn't know I needed. The tool needs to be a small torx tip with a whole in the middle for it to fit over the special screw. They are called tamper proof bits. I used a very small precision flat head screw driver to remove them. To make it easy find and get a tamper proof screwdriver bit set.

Saved the cost of a new game system
Fixed up my son's PS3 that his baby brother got into and played with the laser thing. It was kind of a bear to get it installed. Not particularly hard, just need to pay attention to the screws, and don't put the old laser assembly down right next to the new one and forget which is which, lol!

I was able to fix my PS3 Super Slim 500Gb with very little effort. It read DVDs but not BluRays. Just check YouTube for an instructional. This saved me a ton of money over replacing my system. Thank you!

It works.
Shipping took a lot longer than expected. I have no idea why, but it worked really well. It is kind of difficult to get everything plugged in correctly though, especially if you have big hands, like I do.
