Planet of the Apes: The Evolution of the Legend

Planet Of The Apes is my all time favorite movie, and is a sci-fi masterpiece, so when I first learned about this book that covers it's entire history I was very excited. It's also important to mention that this is the first time that the entire franchise is discussed in one illustrated volume. The first thing I noticed was how high quality the look and texture of the dust cover is. It just makes this book that more cool! Furthermore this book is filled with fun facts that all Ape fans will love, and not to mention all of the excellent behind the scene photographs that just sucks you into the Apes Universe.In this book you will find everything you could possible want to know about the Apes that span from their origins I. 1968 to the current films of today. The bottom line is if you are a fan of the films, then this is a must have, and will be admired for years to come.

Great POTA coffee table book. I really enjoyed the pictures and the behind the scenes information. I purchased the book used after previously been read by gorilla soldiers or guerrillas (I can never tell which is which). Buy it you will not regret it. Dodge would if he still wasn't hanging around the Ape Museum.

Beautiful photos and nice written overview of the entire Apes saga. I'm not as interested in the newer movies. Naked cgi apes isn't as cool looking as John Chambers make-ups This book is highly recommended to any Apes fan.

An excellent history of the movie franchise! If you are a fan of Planet of the Apes and movie making in general, then this will be a fun book to have.

Great comprehensive look at the entire Planet of the Apes franchise. Beautifully designed and produced with lots of color photos. It's the definitive must-have book for any POA fan.

Pricey but this is a large format gem, a beautiful book fans of the classic POA films will cherish. The photograph selections are top notch.

It looks great, but content wise there's not really a lot to win here. I was expecting much more and did get a photo book with some more or less interesting infos. Instead of the ongoing praise of motion capture (yes, we know how it works...) for the terrible reboots I would have wished for more time and pages devoted to the stunning first film. It's a shame really and yes, iIm disappointed with this book. So don't buy it if you are a die hard fan, buy it if you want some pretty pictures and think the reboot is really worth it. I know that Jeff Bond can do much better than that.

The design of this book is stunning! Beautifully laid out and quite minimally organised in order to give the images a clear and easily viewable experience. The quality of the reproduction of, in some cases, very old photographs is amazing. The text is informative and holds a few surprises for even the most knowledgable 'Apes' fan. Beautiful. Just what the 'Doctor' (Zaius) ordered!!!
