Works great. When I use it on myself, it detects a Stud so I know its working. Also the wife is tired of that joke everytime I use it, but I'm gonna keep using it anyway.

I wall mounted my first TV in my home and this little gadget made everything seamless and easy. I was able to find my studs, locate the electrical wiring and get everything installed and mounted in under 30min. I 100% recommend this product to anyone looking to spiffy up some rooms.

The stud finder did find studs, though the calibration seems a little consuming each time you use it. Set up was easy, and finding the 2x4 in the wall worked, but it took a few minutes since the calibration was off the first few times. Got that squared away and then the stud indicator worked fine. It also showed electric wires in the area which was nice, since I already knew there was a conduit along the stud. Easy to read in full daylight and the beeping was loud enough without being overkill. Comes with the required 9v battery - another nice touch.

Says it’s works on plaster. We have a Victorian were remodeling and it’s useless on plaster. Fine for other stuff and happy it finds electrical wires

This stud finder gives out false reading, it keeps on alerting that I have located the “center” of the stud but it’s completely drywall. I went to my local hardware store and bought traditional Zircon brand and it located the center of the stud right away for me.

Had to mount a TV and 100% needed a stud as it was a heavy TV to mount and drywall would not be able to hold it and let me tell you it did its job! I was afraid to drill multiple unnecessary holes and thanks to this stud finder I only drilled the needed 4 it comes with a battery and icing ok the cake it alerted me of nearby A/C wires which was neat to have highly recommended. Does take a bit to get used to it at the beginning but once you read instructions you’ll get the hang of it (you don’t have to hold down the button to scan wall for studs!)

I found the studfinder extremely accurate. I had to install a dog door through our exterior wall, and being an older home, must of us know a stud can literally be at any location. I turned the unit on, and set the wall parameters and started my scan. The easy to see screen and its ability to place arrors at the direction you need to go and finally the two arrows pointing in at the same time indicationg the center of the stud as well as location of the outer edges was really close. After i installed the door and played around with the unit more, and its ability to find wires and pipes too, was simply amazing. Now it didnt work trying to scan through aluminum siding or metal which is for obvious reasons never going to work, but then it wasnt designed too. I am very happy this this instrument, and sure beats the old fashioned kind that literally were usually not accurate at best. The learning curve is pretty straight forward as our the settings, and a quick read over of instructions on the unit, makes it easy to use ina short order. I highly reccoment this unit, and perfect for most applications. As with any stud finder though, drill a small hole and check your stud location to insure you are where you need to be. With any electronic device there can always be a miscalulation in some instances so play smart. Overall I gave this unit a 5 for wase of use, and all the abilities of scans it can perform. The unit feels durable and comes in a nice storage sleeve. If you need to a device to find wires or pipes or even that stud this unit is worth a try. I am completely happy.

This product doesn’t work on brick walls.

Purchased this for my husband as we've moved to a house that's over a hundred years old and has had lots of modifications over the years. He's found the instructions quite unclear (me too) . It works well, as in having the necessary beeps and graphs - but does require better, more informative instructions. We ended up putting it aside for now as we ran out of patience. But maybe it's just us?
