I would like to give my honest review about these Brother TN436 toners. As purchasing manager of the TSK, I'm quite cost conscious. The prices of Clever Supplies toner cartridges made the decision to purchase from them as the obvious choice. We had a massive print job to do -- approximately 6k pages, and we burned through the Brother cartridges that came with the printer halfway through the job. The Clever Supplies Ink cartridges weren't any different in appearance from the Brother cartridges. Changing cartridges was a breeze. We're already ahead of the game in terms of cost v benefit. As long as I'm the purchasing manager of the TSK, we'll be buying our toner cartridges from Clever Supplies.So far so good, I was at first a little afraid of these Brother TN436 toners but after using them for a couple of months I can say they are doing fine. I can't tell any difference in output quality and for the difference in price I will order more when ever I start running low on toner.I have reordered another 4 pack and will continue to use this product. When a OEM set of 4 toners cost more than a new printer, why not?

These color toners were delivered lightning-fast. Most importantly, and what most people care about, these cartridges WORK! My package contained 1 of each of the 4 available toner cartridges for my printer (4 total Black, Cyan, Yellow , Magenta ).I have a Brother HL-L8260CDW printer, and the name-brand toner costs nearly $420 per box set of 4 (one each of four colors)!!!! I am a writer and a teacher, and I go through ink like it's free--and it's obviously not. (And we teachers can hardly afford paper, let alone ink.) I also dabble in photography and print pictures on occasion. (I have NOT printed photos yet. I'll update when I do.)When my toners arrived, my thirsty printer immediately demanded I install two of the cartridges (like it knew they just came in). In just seconds, my printer recognized these cartridges as old friends and started printing. The prints were excellent quality! I could not discern color variances at all--and no smearing or dragging of the colors. I even printed on certificate card stock (for upcoming student awards), and the results were stunning! (FERPA prohibits my sharing a photo of one because I'd be sharing a student's identity.)I remembered other buyers' feedback about the toner leaking when they opened them, so I turned each cartridge ink-opening-side-up as I opened the packages and again as I took off the plastic covers. (No drips, leaks.)I am going to order MORE! The entire package of one of each of four color cartridges cost less than individual Brother cartridges.Do I recommend this toner and/or this seller? I give BOTH 5 stars!

Magenta leaks horrribly. Weekly cleaning is needed of inside and drums. The toner literally just falls out with gravity. By the time I remove it to clean and very carefully try to put t back, half the time it leaks powder on the way down to the tray and I have to clean again. Other colors no problems. But I notice many reviews have issues with magenta. I think it’s too fine or too dry or something in the process that causes this.

With these toner cartridges installed, all printings have a soft pink overlay on both the right and left edges where color is printed. It extends about 1.5 inches on both sides.At first I thought it was the document that I was printing. After trying several documents and going back to the original toner cartridges, it was clear that this was a toner cartridge issue.I've attached a printout of a baseball with all white background to illustrate how messed up the colors are.

My experience with less expensive, "Brand X" laser printer toner cartridges has been mostly disappointing, with more than one out of four failing or misbehaving (sometimes even right after being inserted into the printer). For my new Brother printer I stocked up on OEM cartridges, but I wondered if the ones available here on Amazon at attractive prices could be any different. So I bought sets from three different sellers. More than half of the cartridges from two of these sellers initially failed or misbehaved shortly into their expected life. But not the ones from Clever Supplies. I have now purchased more than 10 complete sets of cartridges and not a single one has failed to perform as well as the OEM ones by Brother. I put them into the printer and they simply work. No streaking, no blotching, no dropouts, nothing. They just work. If your printing pattern is like mine, you replace the back cartridge about twice as often as the next most used color, so get a black one and try it out to see for yourself.

UPDATE: I returned the yellow cartridge that was not working, Clever Supplies sent a brand new box of toner cartridges right away. All four cartridges seem to be working fine now. The blue toner seems to be a bit darker than the Brother toner, but, aside from that, they are almost identical. I was cautioned by a man at Staples against using non-Brother toner. He said it would harm the drum on my printer. The difference in price between Brother toner andClever Supplies toner is so great that I could replace the whole printer if problems develop and still save a lot of money!**************************************I installed the black, cyan, magenta and yellow toner cartridges. They were much less expensive than the Brother toner cartridges, but my printer will not recognize the yellow toner. The copies I printed before the yellow cartridge from Brother that came with the printer looked good, but I cannot print anything without the yellow toner. I followed the directions provided by Clever Supplies, but the printer still will not recognize the yellow cartridge. I am very frustrated!
