Harriet Spies Again

It is fun to read.
This book is fun to read. There is a girl named Harriet who spies on everyone including her classmates and neighbors. She even has a spy route that she checks on almost every day, she looks through windows and listens to other people’s conversations. She also has a notebook that she brings everywhere, when she sees something that she wants to remember or things that seem important, she writes it down in her notebook. Everything she writes down is true, and some of them are pretty mean. When her classmates find her notebook on the ground and read it, they get really upset. Even her best friends don’t talk to her anymore, Harriet feels like life isn’t good anymore. So she starts doing bad things she has never done before, like putting a frog in her classmate’s desk and pinching her classmate. Her classmates get back at her too. They open a club called “The Spy Catcher Club”, and spend time trying to make Harriet feel bad, like doing a marching parade. But Harriet’s friends don’t like the way the club works as time passes on, and they have different opinions on how the club should work, so they get out of the club with most of the members. Harriet’s friends think the fight IS kind of long, so they get back to Harriet and they are friends again in the end.

Excellent Addition To The Harriet The Spy Book
Harriet the Spy is one of my favorite literary characters. In this story Harriet's parents go to France for 3 months. Harriet received a wonderful surprise when her parents hire back Ole Golly to stay with her. Ole Golly is not herself so Harriet goes on a spying mission to find out.

Just right for 8-year-old with "spying" obsession
Bought these for my great-niece who is 8 and obsessed with spying herself; the book was great for her and she and her mom read it each night before bedtime.

A nice, fitting sequel with the same rich language.
This is a wonderful sequel to the original book, Harriet the Spy. It has the same cast of characters and the same rich language that stirs the imagination, but the characters, especially the stoic and judgemental Ole Golly to step into humanity and be introspective. The result is Harriet, herself, growing as a person and maturing beyond childish idealism of perfection and self-absorption. My 10-year old reluctant reader has been reading it herself. Note: in the original book there were occasional illustrations. There are none in this one for the progressing reader who desires the visual image.

Harriet again
According to an eight-year-old fan of 'Harriet the Spy', this sequel was good but not as good. No further details forthcoming.
