It quickly topped my list of works by this artist. While Erik's more recent albums focus primarily on his semi-ambient guitar compositions, this release features a more orchestral electronic palette. The instrumentation is sophisticated, never descending into canned repetitive rhythm tracks or the sort of bombastic cinematic excesses of some artists in this genre. When there is percussion, it fits seamlessly with the rest of the instrumentation...enhancing the effect and mood of the piece without distracting from the melodic development of the music. The music incorporates elements of exotic music from cultures around the world.
