Kindle Plumbs a convenient resource for any techno savvy practitioner
I have both the hard copy and the Kindle version of Plumbs and find that I use the electronic version more often. The hyperlinks are accurate (on other books I've noticed they can be off by a few pages) and the format is very easy to use. I also like that I can highlight and bookmark frequently used dosages and make notes next to specific content. I find the notes are handy for the corrections emailed out by the author. My biggest complaint is the search feature. To access the main entry for a specific drug on the iPad version I must either go to the table of contents for the drug name or I can search for it. When I search for the drug, it pulls up all the entries where the drug appears in the book- as on would expect a search box to do. However, it would be nice for the first entry to be the main page for that drug rather than me scroll through the search results to find the main page (I.e. sort them by relevance and not page number).Other than that one gripe I'm very please by the purchase and I love having my Drug Handbook on hand via iPhone, iPad etc wherever I happen to be working at that moment. Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook

THE Drug reference
I have had many formularies over my 32 year career, some excellent, some birdcage liner. Plumbs is, to me,my daily "go to" reference . The practice has a hardback copy and I have an electronic copy on my phone and tablet . I see they are pushing the e-book and provide continuous updates. As an accredited "Old Fart" I do like having a physical book, but I have to admit on my new phone, it is so much faster and useful, I am about to update mine as an e-book

Does exactly what you need it to do
This book has nearly every medication that is useful for a small animal practitioner in general practice. I'm sure it covers large animals as well, but that isn't my specialty so I'll leave that decision to the experts. The book is about 8" x 11", so much larger than the more "pocket" editions that I was used to. This means that this book isn't ideal for carrying in a lab coat pocket (veterinary students, this means you), but it is very easy to read the larger text, which I appreciate as I get older. I'm glad I made the purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

good product. A must have in every veterinary practice.
Easy to find medications and drugs. current and up to date. All the species are separate and easy to find. The small sizemakes it easy to grab and use. We refer to it daily at my practice. They have made some changes in a few a the doses in somemedications and write -ups, so I have not gotten rid of my earlieredition and sometimes still refer back to that one. I like the updates, but wish they hadn't made those other changes.

Pretty good
It is pretty easy to use, about as fast as the paper version, when I've had a race with someone. My associates sometimes steal my Plumb, but never my iPad. (I love my iPad mini, but that's another review). And of course I always have my iPad at my side, so I can look up drug doses at home when I need to.Minus one star for not having brand-names included in the index. They are included in the monograph, which I definitely need to see what they'll have at the human pharmacy, but sometimes it's just easier to search for Keppra instead of whatever Keppra is, which I have to look up first. It does give you a Google/Wikipedia search option in the search box, so I can use that to find Levet... something, and find Keppra that way without leaving the Kindle app. It just takes a little longer. Also, sometimes I have a hard time getting the first drug name in the list. It wants to open the search bar when I touch near the top of the page. I'm not sure what that's about.

Great detailed drug reference
Plumb's has been my go to for many years now, even though I have tried smaller/lighter formularies, due to Plumb's detailed information on interactions and contraindications that I always seem to need for my more complicated cases. I update my Plumb's every few years to get the newer human drugs we all have to use and it has a place on our main counter since all of our doctors reference it daily.

time consuming searches
Lack of an index makes finding a drug a multistep process. If i want to look up selegiine, I first have to go to my android menu and hit "go to". next I have to hit "Table of Contents". This takes me to "Contents Systemic Monographs". Then I have to page through from the drugs that start with "A" to the page that has drugs starting with "S". The I scroll through the "S" drugs to find selegiline. The content, once you find the desired drug, is what you would expect in any addition of "Plumbs".

A must have for anyone in the veterinary field!
This book is a must have for anyone in the veterinary field, and is helpful to anyone with animals as well! Covers everything you need to know about drugs used in the animal world. In veterinary tech. school this is referred to as our "bible"! I downloaded it to my Kindle Fire for easier access and lookup.

Great reference guide
Pleased with this book which covers a substantial number of drugs found in the veterinary world. I am using it purely for a reference guide as I work with dogs and need to be aware of what medications they may be on. Easy to look up and thorough explanation and use of each drug
