Can I order just the piece that attaches to windshield without buying the whole mount.

The best thing to do is go to your local hardware store. Buy a steel washer (should cost you less than $0.25), and use some Scotch VHB tape to attach it to your windshield. The magnet is in the ball mount, so all you need is a steel disc of the correct size.

Does this mount fit the ball on the Garmin dash friction mount?

No. The picture of this mount is deceptive. The height of this mount from base to top of the ball is approximately 32mm. The ball is 8mm. This is substantially smaller than the standard Garmin mount which has a 17mm ball.

IS it possible to order just the magnetic disk? I want to move the dashcam 55 from truck to truck

It came with both, I was not able to just buy the magnetic disk. However I have seen that some people are using a Canadian (not US) 5 cent coin because it is mostly steel (~ 95%) and only nickel plated, whereas the US 5 cent coin is mostly copper and nickel. The 5 cent coin fits perfectly, but you have to find an epoxy/glue that will bond to give you the required strength - however, I do not know which would be the best product for that.
